Exclamation Plagiarism - A Warning

Simply: don't do it.

You will be investigated, you will be exposed, and you will be permanently banned.

Many people have tried it... Snake Docter, HeroModding, Huntelaar. No one has succeeded.

You have nothing to gain from doing it. The only thing that will result will be a permanent ban according to the forum rules:
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-...oderation.html

Let this be a warning to anyone thinking about doing it.

For those unsure what plagiarism means, it is taking someone else's work, be it a model, texture, whatever, and claiming it as your own. Don't do it.

Thanks GeZe for pointing this out, I did notice the model was funny looking at first, but just ignored it. Guess it was partly my fault for not saying anything about this.

I'm in total agreement with this. Show off your own work or give credit to others.

Re: Plagiarism

What is really f***ed up about this is the time and effort spend on the whole matter. not just the investigation, but these guys often come and promise a lot of projects and such, thus discracting us with false statements and halting the work... -_- sad, so sad.

Anyways, there is no point in keeping this fire going, so lets all settle down and get back to work before we waste any more time on this "or else they have won" - oh wait, thats the terrorists ...

I don't understand why someone would steal models in here...its not like they are going to get paid for it.

Respect the R-Staff, they are pretty...pretty badass
so, if you don't like PR, get a refund

Good job GeZe. Another one bites the dust like you say.

This guy was pretty good though, at lying i mean. Had most of us fooled, except ever suspicious GeZe.

Unlike HeroModding, who posted a picture of a Glock when he was supposed to be modelling a MR443 and then said 'uh, it just turned out that way'. Can't believe he lasted so long...

Re: Plagiarism

I was too busy looking at the stuff in the individual thread by this resent guy.. there were so many, lol. I'm suprised I didnt pay attention to the author of that first model thread, damn...

Plagiarism is something I will never understand, I have no idea how these people have planed to get away with it in the long run anyway, its not like can make any progress on the models they show...
Some of us modelers around here started out in these forums, and we ended up making models for the game anyway and gained our respect that way - slowly. I cant see why people try these tricks.

Re: Plagiarism

That was indeed surprising. Well, maybe a post with the most important rules (like this one) about modding should be stickied in every community project, perhaps that would make people more careful and sceptical. Good job anyways.
