[Question] Getting GB kit geometry onto US soldier geo?
I want a straight up answer.. is it possible? I've run through and edited the .con files and only ended up with crashes in bf2editor.

You want US soldiers with GB kit geomtry?
Inside map Init.con, change the kits to GB and soldier to US..done.. |

ah I thought you meant just get a british hat or something onto a US player model
ye in the maps init.con file has a list of the kits, and the player mesh each kit spawns with. |

Hmm.. unfortunately its not working, the US guys keep spawning with US meshes.. It doesn't work either in editor, however MEC, insurgents and militia seem to be able to equip kit meshes from other factions. Everyone else is locked to their own respective faction's kits..

Chuc that doesnt work that way.
Soldier model is just soldier model, no hat no backpack no helmet. All these things are decided by kit geomtry - for example IDF soldiers are EU soldiers using MEC kits. So to achieve what you want you need to use the GB kits[clone & modify as needed] on us soldiers[again clone & modify as needed]. What soldier gets what kit is decided by the mapper Heres how you edit it in the Init.con of map Quote:

Thanks! it works, however.. serious alignment/clipping issues and the pure fact that the brit bowl helmets don't suit the adf, that I'm not gonna go on with this :P
Unless there's a way to edit the meshes. Here's the craziness that resulted. ![]() |

that doesnt look half bad. you pretty much outlined what doesnt look right (clipping/alignment), but are there also lightmap issues? it seems like the models have no shadows?

Well I do have lighting on low and shadows turned off.. but atm the general consensus is not to go any further without any modelling intevention.
