[Map] EG's Kashan Edit 2.0 (16p)

I had been kicking this idea round for a little while now, actually. Zangoo, a member of my losely run clan Digital Militia, proposed doing the map up (I haven't gotten around to it), and I thought it might be fine, but as it was my pet project I thought I'd present it to the community. I might end up doing the map myself (shouldn't be too hard I wouldn't think!), but who knows what my schedule holds?

Anyways, I like Kashan 32 and 64, but not 16. In 32 and 64, I had normally been the ONE squad perpetually stuck in the bunker section, some how having to defend TWO bunker flags in a huge area against what had to be the entire enemy team. The 16 player version was awful as it was ENTIRELY the bunker section.

So, in my efforts to have more village fighting, I came up with this idea.

Basically, the US has spent the day fighting, so it's an early evening map. They have just been able to send forces to this southern most village. MEC has been holding the entire time, so they've had time to prepare (bunker) their defenses.

Asset lists are in the picture, though I'd like to present the idea of reducing the number of humvees and vodniks if I introduce air units, as they'll be taking a lot of fire. Air units are a large IF, especially for USMC, as they don't even use the LB IRL.

The original idea was based around close action, light asset conflict with asymetric tendencies. In the basic asset list, the MEC gets the friggin BMP-3. In a direct fight for the village, USMC will probably lose. They will, however, be able to use the villa as a cover spot, as well as the sorrounding mountians, to destroy it. If they're getting the BMP-3, I may reduce the number of vods to numVod-1, where numVod is a variable number of vodniks between 4 and 6. If they're getting the BMP-3 I will more than likely give the US some sort of LB gunship (99.9999999999999999% likely the minigun only one).

If we decide against the BMP-3/LB, then MEC will most certainly get a scout chopper. USMC will have brought a TOW Humvee, expecting at least some armour presence. It will be less useful, but the Gazelle will not be invincable, as humvees and SAW's will kill it. I am attempting to give one side an advantage of some sort, with the other side getting an advantage that does not easily trump the other sides. In the case of MEC Scout and TOW humvee for example, USMC can destroy buildings in the village with ease from range and cover, but are exposed to attacks from the air.

EDIT: Keep in mind the graphic is a bit dated when it comes to what I'd put on the map. I may just make it a straight up infantry match.

Should the focus be on Villa? or the village? Otherwise I like the setup.

US has to get the Villa first. The pic has an error saying that the MEC need the Villa before village, but that's wrong. The village will probably be the heaviest fighting, unless the US team is retarded and doesn't do anything.

ok. that cleared things up nicely. i saw that too (wrt the mec --> villa --> village) and thought it would be realllllly hard for mec to get all the way over to villa.

sweet stuff eg.

mec needs a flag in the mountian over looking village, that way they will have some where to pull back to.

It's the area around south village?

I think the villa is a 'quala' than.

:')

Dang I heard that word to much last days.

Nice idea,.. would be fun with 64 players on this map !

Lots of infantry fights in and around the village and quala!

Very nice map idea, I'm a big fan of light vehicles + infantry combat. Which your map promises with relish.

Some of my favorite quotes...

I read the mapping guidelines and apparently I'm not supposed to have vehicles at all.

The size of the area, however, begs to differ...perhaps I could sneak a vod or two in?

I'm deploying engies with shotty's, btw.

You sure can put some light vehicles (Humvee/vodnik/truck) in, as there is indeed a 16p map that has humvees, Zatar Wetlans 16
