[Map] Southwest Fallujah [WIP]

Well, I posted about me working on this before because I had a problem, but I figured that now I'll actually post it as a WIP. I'm pretty much doing this map on the side because I'm awaiting an assignment from PR German Forces, but no matter.

I know that a lot of people want an American version of Al Basrah, and I would too. So, I figured that Al Fallujah would be the best place for an American, Iraq-based Insurgency map. I've started work on it, and I've discovered that making cities is just as bad as I thought it was (ie. lots of work and very boring).

This is the area of Southwest Fallujah( actually the most Southwestern tip of the city itself), but only the residential side of town. The south side's on the map, but I cut it off because when I took this picture I planned on only doing the residential area that I've based the town part of the map on. Notice the double-lane highway running through the town. This separates the map between more commercial zones and totally residential areas (on my map that is, it looks that way from Google Earth, but I still can't say because I've never been there). The South side (commercial) will be statics from PR, XPack and BF2. The North (residential) side will all be destructible houses.

So far I've only finished about 1/3 of the south side of the city.

Then, the fictional part is the USMC Base because I didn't want the map to be mainly desert (Camp Fallujah is large enough to be its own map and it's pretty far from Al Fallujah (the city itself)).

One side of the US Base has vehicles and will have spawns.

The other side has the two helicopters: a huey and an AH6 with Missles.

Finally, there is a guardtower with a SAW to protect the base (even though it has the dome of death).

So, please critique the map. Also, if you've ever map an Insurgency map please help me out with how to actually map the Insurgent spawns and caches. (I read the Map_Audit tutorial and it didn't really help me)

Well, that's....

AWESOME!!! I hate making urban maps. I just decided I do this for the community.

All hail PR for lightening my workload, but now I'll just be bored, oh well.
And that's funny because I searched the forums and I found nothing about a Fallujah WIP, but no matter.

looks like a nice start. maybe so should make it half urban and half desert. Showing the USMC push into the city.

What size is it?
I also wanted to make Fallujah but bigger than what Duckhunt is working on so there could also be heavy assets such as tanks and attack helos.

Now since there is already an official Fallujah being worked on are you going to continue working on it?
What I like about your idea is that it's actually an Iraqi and not another Afghan map. There are already plenty of them being made.

US vs INS insurgency maps FTW

Why would I ever make more British maps for PR? Especially desert?! For one, it was explained to me that PR was designed to make British stuff and realism, so I'm not going to do something they're going to do. Second, I don't like desert maps. Finally, I'm an American, sorry, I have a bias to America and my three main heritages (Polish, German and Irish).

lol, good man. i would love to see this map bigger and maybe allow for alot of fighting which would force the ins to stay in the city or die.
