Re: My First Model, Afganistan House
Extrude to give depth
Don't use straight edges bevel them on a simple model like this. Spice it up don't be afraid of a polycount, you can always cut back after. |

Try making a whole bunch of random things, totally different things, so you get to know the tools you have. Dont just try to go straight to a final model.

Re: [Static Model] My First Model, Afganistan House
you can make stuff like:
extruded roof with a few seperate roof plates (sheets of wood or metal - can be textured) bench doorstep windows - some barred with a few plates of wood if in a war zone or poor neighbourhood, mabye a hole in the wall with the shape of 1 to N bricks or something roofwall (boxes) - should be seperate static, but sometimes it can be useful (barrels) - should be seperate static, but sometimes it can be useful stuff like that is always nice, adding just one of these things is often enough to sell what is basically a box as a house (with the right texture sheets though) |

Re: [Static Model] My First Model, Afganistan House
i dont know anything about modelling or texturing but what i can see is that this doesnt look like an afghan house...this gitter-window and the roof are not realistic imo if you want to make it an afghan house. Also the wooden door looks too european if you know what i mean search for some ref pics and you'll get the impression how houses mostly look like there

But anyway, good job. It is pretty good. Try to practice and add in some side objects. After that, like marc said, grab some reference pictures off of here and keep us posted. good luck! | |
