[Request] Help needed with Realistic Aircraft HUD's
I have already made aircraft hud's in Photoshop layered perfectly.
As long as I can integrate it with the BF2 engine (Wouldn't take long). Then we will have realistic HUD's. And that, my friend, is what looks best. I need a tool to use, and a method of using it, this is where I am asking for help. |

Which aircraft? I would love to see this too. I have experience with the Alpha channels used to make the HUD's too.

Re: [Request] Help needed with Realistic Aircraft HUD's.
I suppose the question really is, would they be functional or 'for display purposes only'? Obviously BF2 HUDs are far from realistically functional, but they do tell roughly tell you altitude, speed and direction along with the weapons systems. Id rather that than a pretty HUD that is completely useless.
An in-game screenie would be nice if you manage to implement this. |

Re: [Request] Help needed with Realistic Aircraft HUD's
# Time - this may be a timer counting down the time limit of the current turn, level, round or mission or time left until a specific event. A timer counting up to record things such as lap times in racing games, or length of time a player can last in games based on survival. The in game time, such as the current time of day, the date or the year within the game. Some games may also display the real time.
# Weapons/ammo -most games show what weapon is being used, and also so how much ammo is in it. # Capabilities - gameplay options that are often accessible by the player during gameplay, such as available weapons, items, or spells. This can include when the ability will become usable again, such as ammo, magic points, or some other type of "charge up" timer. # Menus - Menus to exit, change options, delete files, change settings, etc. # Game progression - the player's current score, money, or level (as in stage or as in experience points). This might also include the character's current task or quest. ================================================== ========================== Foreclosed Homes Patrick |

Re: [Request] Help needed with Realistic Aircraft HUD's
If you go to "Menu_client.zip\HUD\Texture\Ingame\Vehicles\Icons \Hud\Air\Attack" you can get an idea how they're made. Basically the hud is cut into numerous images and compiled of those on the screen. You'd have to replace those images and it'll show up ingame.
Also you'd have to tweak all of those images positions from some text file. Don't know exactly what file, but my guess would be these "menu_server.zip\HUD\HudSetup\Vehicles". Which would probably take it's time. And the images are made in the alpha channel, so the RGB channels are completely white. I'm not 100% sure that this is correct, but it's my guess after looking around in the zip files. |
