[Map] Khayrow Khel

Hi there,

It's been a while since I last posted about making a map but since then I've been working on a few ideas and helping to make a map for another mod with a friend of mine. So anyway we both wanted to have a go at making a PR map so we thought we'd do it together and we came up with this:

Darunta Dam (formerly Khayrow Khel ):

4km map

Game Mode: AAS

MEC vs GB (provisional)

Vehicles: (provisional)

- (MEC) T-90s, BMP3s, Vodniks, Trucks and Eurocopters (maybe a mobile AA too).

- (GB) Challengers, Warriors, Land Rovers, Trucks, Boats, a Merlin and an Apache.

Terrain - Mountains, Dunes, Farm land, Town.

Background

Darunta, Afghanistan, is the site of the Darunta dam hydroelectric power station that provides electricity to Jalalabad and the surrounding districts. It was also the site of several terrorist training camps ( more here).

This is the 4km area we plan to do.

Satellite photo of an area we've been playing around with in a test map.

Colormap test (objects & undergrowth irrelevant)

Obviously there's still a long way to go but feedback and suggestions are always welcome. I'll post back soon with some progress shots etc,

i think we need more city maps, but any map would be more than welcome!

I like this, It reminds me of Helmand Province a little. It's a shame that map got taken out.

Reminds me a little bit to Jabal without a carrier.

the worse part about jabal is the dam, it dont fit one little bit as its not in a realistic places, facing the wrong way and many other bits, let alone if any one did try to fill up that valley with water, the water would just flow around the hills that has the roads going down etc
