[Map] Dragon's Mouth [WIP]
I quiting mapping.
Sorry, but I cant map anymore, mapping requests time, wich I haven't been having. I started this map at my vacations, now the short free time that I have, I use it to play or watch Dr. House (I won his DVD box ) I have this map here, if anyone requests, I can upload and let it to someone else finish it. WIth this mapping expirience I became another player, with a different vision of making games and mods. Now I can say "DEVS, YOU ARE GREATS". Bye mapping =/ dragons_mouth.rar - FileFront.com Here is the file Take care of my little baby =´( Map name: Dragon's Mouth Teams:USMC vs PLA Game mode: Counter-Attack Well, after a litte search in the google earth I didn't find any good place to base my map over the China cost beacause erevywhere is populated with costal city and habors. For a country with the 20% off all grobal popullation, that's is OK, but not for my map. So, I went north a little and I found a perfect place in the southeast of Russia to base my map on. That's not China, but the natural environment is the same (I think...). Anyway, the history for the map is this: US intelligence reports that there is a big chinese base south of Dailan Plant, between the mountains and in a forest near a costal city. With so many AA placements around, the only way to assault and destroy the base is by the sea. But, when the fight starts, the PLA army call for reinforciments that will be in the area in 45 min. Interesting idea. I thought you would make an insurgency map rather than a Chinese one since you seem to be a big fan of insurgency. However I wish you good luck with your map. I may not be the most experienced mapper around but feel free to give me a shout if you need any help

Thank you very much. You are right about I be a great fan of middle-east conflicts, but I didn't find anything similar in the desert. And we already have Gulf of Oman.

Roger That. Today I started do something in the editor, watched some videos and read some tutorials.
Then I created a place, chaged, tested and etc... but I didn't have any idea what to do or where that little hell/heaven was going to end. Then I did a little research in google earth and had an idea. I posted here to see what the public would think. Im going to start the map tomorrow. |

nice location find, what size of map did you have in mind, 1024x4?
done in the right way you could make this map alot like a omaha beach map thou bth without spawn points on the beach that would be hard to do well, to keep the play up and will be hard to not make it too easy for the PLA to defend My suggestion would be add lots and lots of AA cannons (put AA missile points more behind the coast), make the main fighting force come from amphib APCs and any choppers will get raped by the AA Cannons. Give the USMC a Attack Jet (Harrier II when it comes) or maybe even give them 2, so what this will do is make CAS a very imporant elemant for the USMC to be able to win, ie, the jets will need to really clear the path for the USMC to land with also they will be even more effective if the ground troops designate targets for them Thou you will need to make sure that USMC can still just get a beach head without the jets, as it is likly a nub will get in it, crash it or wont be that much good at CAS or you wont have any one on the team able to fly the jets so they just sit on the carrier Then have the choppers spawn in later, once around abouts the AA cannons have been taken out, you could possibly make this kinda a Scenario map where the objective is to take out the AA cannons to get choppers and lots of other objectives (including flag capping). You will also have to probaly keep the combat zones restricted so that the USMC dont just funnel round, or if you keep cliffs up all the way around, you could funnel them with just that, to keep the combat focused then when the choppers do come in, you can fly over the cliffs but keep the AA cannons down the coast abit, but will be hard for USMC to destroy them. anyways sounds like a good concept, just keep brain storming it and ye, do what Ranky suggested and you can put a google image onto your colourmap to work on, kinda what I did for Muttrah thou i didnt have a good google map, so i used a road map |

hey if you look up Ostrov kotlin in saint petersburg on google earth its a great place to have a navy seal team vs russian forces or some kind of fighting

Off course I'm planing to do some secret ways trought the cliff to climb it. And US is going to have a full air support, but the map is going to be full of AA placements.
