Exclamation Falklands Community Tasks

Hey all!

We could really use some help from the community here with getting rid of some of these place holders and filling in the gaps for PR:BF2 - Falklands (PR:F).

Below is a list of open "Community Tasks" that are up for grabs from anyone within the community to do for PR:F. Many assets have already been finished though this by community modders (many now R-CONs and R-DEVs who first started out as Community Modders) and providing your work is up to standard etc, there is no reason why it wouldn't be included into PR:F.

Please note this list doesn't include everything we need or that is currently being worked on, only stuff that's not currently being worked on and items we feel are necessary for the next or future releases. Please also note the priority of each item, as some things are higher priority than others as they are required for the next release or to fill in a critical gap in gameplay assets which are higher priority than assets that are just to remove a current place holder with the correct, historically accurate asset.

Anyone is welcome to have a go at these tasks, even beginners who want to learn the ways of the trade can help out

So please post below or PM me if you see something you would like to take on or if you have any questions and if you do take on a task I will give you all the info and refs I have on the item

Open Tasks By Priority (full details below):
  1. Tigercat SAM (Texturing Task)
  2. FM FAP LMG (Modelling Task)
  3. Mk17 1000lb Dumb Bomb (Modelling Task)
  4. Mirage/Dagger Analogue Cockpit Texture (Texturing Task)
  5. Matra R.550 Magic - Short Range Air To Air Missile (Modelling Task)
  6. LAW-66 (Texturing Task)


Texturing Tasks:
Easy Texturing Tasks:
LAW-66 Light Anti-Tank
Priority: Normal
We need someone to re-texture the M72 LAW green to look like the British version of it, the Rocket 66mm aka LAW-66 since the model has since seen an update from v0.98 with improved UVs.
Moderate Texturing Tasks:
Tigercat SAM Texture
Priority: High
lucky.BOY has modelled and UVed the "British Made" Tigercat Surface to Air Missile launcher used by the Argentinians during the Falklands war and need someone to texture it. lucky has baked normals from a high poly model so all that's really required is a diffuse and spec map, as well as possibly a little extra normal detail/cleaning.
It will also be used by the Brits in PR:F as a PH for the Rapier and the MEC as a few ME countries still use this weapons system so we will also need a desert coloured version too which should be simple enough once the green Argentine version is done. This SAM is CLOS guided much like the Blowpipe MANPAD. More info here: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388...-pr-f-wip.html


Mirage/Dagger Analogue Cockpit Texture
Priority: Normal
The Argentine Mirage IIIEA and IAI Dagger A needs their cockpits re-skinned with an Analogue Cockpit Texture to replace the Modern "Mirage 2000" Digital Cockpit:


Modelling Tasks:
Easy Modelling Tasks:
FM FAP LMG
Priority: High
We need someone to convert our current FN FAL model into an FM FAP which is the Light Machine Gun (LMG) of the 1982 Argentine Forces, with new bipod, fore-grip and other visual differences.


Mk17 1000lb Dumb Bomb
Priority: Normal
A 1000lb (British Made) dumb bomb used by the Argentinians during the war mainly on A-4 Skyhawks and was mainly used against British Shipping.


Goose Green Community Center Static
Priority: Normal
The main mesh is made but needs a 3d artist to create LOD's from and perhaps look into adding some extra detail(door beams,support beams,...).



Matra R.550 Magic - Short Range Air To Air Missile
Priority: Low
The correct Short Range Air to Air Missile for the Argentinian aircraft to go on the Mirage IIIEA, IAI Dagger A and the Super Etendard (currently a Mirage IIIEA with Exocet Anti-Ship Missile as PH, see below tasks) to replace the AA-11 Archer.

Export Tasks:
Easy Exporting Tasks:
FMK-1 & FMK-3 AP & AT Mines
Priority: Normal
We need someone to export 3===SPECTER===3's FMK-1 Anti-Personal and FMK-3 Anti-Tank Mines which where used by the Argentinians during the Falklands War. The 1st person and 3rd person models are all done (other than possibly the 3p lods but its better to make them once lod0 is exported anyways) and its really just a matter of exporting this out as a handheld weapon, using some of the existing mine animations. This is a pretty easy export task so anyone who wants to learn exporting on, this is a good place to start

Removed Large Tasks: By Priority:
These are large tasks that are unlikely to be completed in time to be integrated into any future PR:F release but if anyone is still up for doing them still they are listed below for any takers.
  1. L14A1 Carl Gustav (Modelling Task)
  2. M67 90mm Recoilless Rifle (Modelling Task)
  3. Panhard AML 90 (Modelling Task)
  4. Rheinmetall 20mm/75 AAA (Modelling Task)
  5. Model 1968 Recoilless Gun (Modelling Task)
  6. Super Etendard (Modelling Task)
  7. L42A1 Sniper Rifle (Modelling Task)
  8. IA 58 Pucara (Modelling Task)
  9. Land Rover 101 FC Truck (Modelling Task)
  10. New FN FAL Series (Modelling Task)
  11. Rapier SAM (Modelling Task)
  12. Proper Sea Harrier FRS1 & Harrier GR3 Models (Modelling Task)
  13. Type 42 Destroyer (Modelling Task)

Updated the OP and cleaned the topic.

The next PR:F release will be its last major release and its unlikely to have any new content added after that so I've stripped the OP tasks down to only the small tasks that can be done in time for the next major release if started sometime soon and added the Tigercat SAM Texturing task which is really high priority as we don't want to see all of lucky's awesome hard work going to waste but the other tasks would be awesome if anyone is up for them too!
