Default PR2 on Steam Greenlight as "Squad"?

I'm not sure if this is official or someone trying to steal BlackSand's street cred, but it looks pretty legit.

Just to check, but have you been hiding under a rock for the last 5 months?

The squad team is made up of ex/current pr devs who want to make a commercial game based off of pr, while pr2 is made up of an entirely different team. They chose a new name due to licensing issues (pr being related to a free mod, thus cannot be used under a commercial license, as far as I one).

Yes, it is a separate game from pr2, but is essentially the only updated "sequel" we have to pr:bf2

Yes, PR1 rocks...

I don't hit the forums very often. It was news to me and my boss (also a PR1 player).

Either that, or he's trolling. I swear that name sounds familiar. Did anyone else ever follow the 1944: D-Day game project? There was a notorious troll on the forums by the name of Nivek. Sorry if that isn't you.

No, wasn't me. I guess I'm a little confused why the team split in two, but I'm sure that's old politics that no one wants to re-hash. Seems disingenuous for ex-devs to say "from the makers of PR"...

Didn't figure it was, was joking more than anything.

Also, there was a split in the Squad team a while back. Something to do with one group of people wanting to buy placeholder assets to get the game out quicker, and another group wanting to make all the assets in house. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's what the deal was.

Okay.

Admins: feel free to delete. I may be the only one who didn't know about this, but I had to share it when I saw it.

The PR:BF2 and Squad devs aren't on bad terms at all. They're all encouraging one another.

Some of us in PRBF2 don't have anything to add to Squad, e.g. now I'm a qualified nurse I don't have the time to learn a different engine so I'm avidly awaiting the game to enjoy purely as a fan like the rest of the community

But yes, there's not 'politics' there, we've all been fellow teammembers/gamers/friends for years now

I thought some of the squad devs were also working on some stuff for PR still... (Afterdune had quite some stuff I believe)
