Question Game crash while loading (Steam Version)

Good evening,

I installed the steam version of ArmA2 and PR as recommended in this post , but somehow the game crashes while connecting to the servers.

What can I do to avoid this crash while loading?

Post your RPT here in code tags. Also post your system specs and OS version. You said you installed Arma2 and what about OA? You do need Combined Operations to install and play PR.

What is a RPT?

I have ArmA2: CO (ArmA2 + OA).

Windows 7 - 64 Bit
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1 GB RAM GDDR5
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.60GHz
OCZ 4096 MB Golden High Speed Kit @ 1066 Mhz

So you installed latest beta?

Your game crashed first cause of memory allocation error in your video card driver, and then cause of wrong version of game/battleye combination.

Please remove battleye and install 1.6 compatible version. You can get it from here:

http://www.battleye.com/downloads/arma2/BEClient.dll

To play on PR servers you must have 1.6 version of the game or if you wish to use beta patch, then you must have no larger build number that 94700. That build is last 1.6 MP compatible beta. Battleye also differs for RC#1/2/3 ( or 1.61/1.62/1.6 ) so you must use proper version of BE for 1.6 or you will get CTD every time.

I do not have any folder called "BattlEye".

But I have a BEsetup.exe in the ArmA2 folder and ArmA2:OA.

Thanks, I can find it now in AppData... .
But it doesn't exist in the Steam folder.
How can I see my version of the game?


After trying it again, the game stuck while loading at 60%, better than a crash...

Hmm not sure try Arma2/Expansion/Battleye ??

I have both installed in one folder so it all in one place, I dont know exactly for steam version, but it has to be there. Search for Expansion folder in your steam and it should be there.

Version of the game is displayed on lower right ( vanilla game ) when you launch it. It says 1.6.94700 ( example ).

It wont work with wrong game/battleye version. Have you installed RC patch or just got MP beta?
