Cargo Airlifting
Large helicopters, such as the Merlin, Chinook and Blackhawk can carry cargo as an underslung load. These loads could include FO containers, static weapons, or small to medium vehicles. Armour cannot be airlifted. In order to attach an airlift cargo to the chopper, you will need:
Both can be obtained from either the helo's cargo, or from a helicopter supplies crate. The procedure to attach airlift cargo is quite simple.
The pilot can then start up the chopper, and maneuver into position above the cargo. When above the cargo, and below 12m, select Attach Airlift Cargo from the Action or Interaction Menu. The pilot can use the Airlift Monitor to assist in maneuvering to the cargo. ![]() Select Show Airlift Monitor from the Interaction Menu. The monitor will indicate whether you are too high or low, or moving. It will indicate "Connect" when you can attach the cargo. Airlifting adds to pilot's work score. The Squad Orders menu and Request menu have 'Airlift (cargo)' options, if needed. Alternatively, cargo can be loaded inside the chopper, and unloaded at the destination, or para-dropped. Refer to the Cargo Transport topic for additional information. |
