Vehicles (general)
There are a wide variety of vehicles in PR ArmA2, from basic cars and trucks, to IFVs, tanks and attack choppers. For more specialised vehicles a crewman or pilot kit is required for operating the 'crew' positions (driver, gunner, commander). To acquire the kit, go to the vehicle, open the Interaction menu and select Take Crewman/Pilot Kit. You can also get these kits from the Armaments crates. Abandoned Vehicles A vehicle left for 3 minutes, with no player within 150m, will be considered abandoned. It will then despawn after a short period, and ultimately respawn at it's original start location. Hint: if you're using a vehicle and intend to abandon it, make sure it's somewhere where other players are unlikely to go. This will ensure the vehicle will spawn back at base for other players to use. Repairs A damaged vehicle can be repaired in the field, or back at the VSP in base. Broken wheels can be repaired using a spare wheel (if carried). For armour or choppers you may need to call in a repair crate. This will provide basic mobility repairs to get you back to base, where you must then fully repair at the VSP. Refer to the Vehicle Maintenance topic for more info. Vehicle locking Squads may lock a vehicle to ensure it doesn't get stolen. A squad must have at least 2 members. One vehicle may be locked for every 4 members. Maximum of 3 vehicles may be locked per squad (if squad is > 12). A locked vehicle becomes unlocked if the squad drops below 2 members. |
