Default First Aid

Providing first aid

If you get wounded in battle, depending on how serious your injuries are you may be able to perform first aid upon yourself. For more serious injuries you may need the help of a squad mate or medic.

First aid equipment:
The 3 primary first aid equipment types are: Field dressings, Morphine and Adrenaline. You'll find these in Armaments crates, medic supply crates, and in the Medic's backpack.

First aid on self:
You can only treat yourself with light wounds. If you have been treated for serious injuries and are close to being healed, you will need help from your team mate or a medic to complete your treatment fully. In this case, you won't be able to complete the final stage of your treatment yourself.

Select Squad menu, then First aid (self), then Diagnose. You will get a diagnosis description along with further treatment needed. Follow these steps but always use Field dressing first, in order to stop the bleeding.

First aid on others:
You can give First aid to your team mates too, via the Interaction menu. You can stabilise your team mate who is incapacitated (unconscious) which will allow him to be mobilised again, but in all serious cases they will need further treatment from a medic to complete the task. If necessary you can drag or carry an incapacitated team mates to cover first, before beginning treatment. These options are accessed via the Interaction menu too.

Non medic players are not fully qualified as medics, and so will spend more time and supplies stabilising a person. However this treatment is often vital when a medic is not nearby in order to prevent him from bleeding out.
