Lightbulb Missile warnings in helicopters missing(?)

Server: TacticalGamer.com - Official PR v0.15 Beta Test Server [@PR 0.15]

Number of players (approx): Doesnt matter

Time (UTC): Always when sitting in a few special helis

Mission names: All maps on which american/takistani helicopters are available (means: Operation Sisyphus, Endless Blood ...)

Side:
Both

Brief Description: Missile can be seen on radar but the accustic missile warnings are missing.

Reproducible: Yes

Process to reproduce: Fly around in a CH-47F(american chinook) or Mi-8MT. Keep an eye on the radar.

When someone fires an AA missile on you you are able to see it on radar but you dont hear the accustic missile warning like this one which the HC3 Merlin and the HC4 Chinook(british) have.

Additional information: none
-------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

after playing Project Reality for a while I noticed that some helicopters doesnt have accustic missile warnings. I tested it for 1week by playing maps like Iron Forge, Operation Sisyphus, Endless Blood and Zagrabad Uprising.

My result: Helicopters like HC3 Merlin and the HC4 Chinook have a good working missile with a working radar which shows approaching AA-missiles by a red "M" on the radar and an accustic peeping missile warning. The missile warnings on the AH-1 Apache and the AH-11 Wildcat work, too.

The american CH-47F and the takistani Mi-8MT doesnt have any accustic missile warnings. You cant hear the signal when a missile is approaching. You are able to see the red "M" on radar but thats it.

I dont have any experience with the Mi-24 on Battle for Sobor and thats why I dont know if the heli doesnt have a missile warning either.

Moreover I noticed that the UH-60M doesnt even recieve missile warnings on radar. When an AA-missile is approaching you dont notice anything until it hits the Blackhawk. I am absolutely sure that these are not AT or RPG hits which make me crash. During playing the closed beta by TG this problem did not occure but since Im playing the released beta version I cant remember that I ever recieved a AA-missile warning in the UH-60M.

My question is: Am I the only one who have this problem? I think that such an issue would be already reported if anyone else had it, too.

Regards

Hey Charlie,

Thanks for making this suggestion, I too have had a similar experience. However, for the final point you make about the missiles not showing on the radar themselves, I think there might be some confusion, as I once had too! - (As for the rest about the audio warning, it has happened to me too.)

Once when lifting in the Blackhawk I was hit by what I thought to be a missile but received no visual or audio warning. After managing to safely ditch the bird I consulted with the crew and it was found that we were hit by an RPG instead. - Hence RPG's will not show but still pretty deadly none the less.

From the IRl helicopter point of view, there is no difference between an RPG rocket and for example a stinger. They are both shoulder launched and both dont have radar or are not laser guided. The only way helicopers systems can make out that a missile is incoming is by its own presence mid-air.

What im trying to say is: If a helicopter is able to recognize a incoming heat-guided missile, it should be able to recognize a dumb one, too.

-lucky

Hey,

To be honest, I'm sure you are right. What I said was purely from word of mouth and what myself and the crew witnessed in game. (Should have clarified my source none the less.) Having said that, I guess what you say also confirms the issue in a way, which is good.
