Is there a perfect squad make up for your leadership style?
Do you use the same layout each game or do you change to suit the mission/map? Whilst playing Endless Blood yesterday with a great squad i found that we all had a job to do and just got on with it.Even though we lost the war we worked great as a squad and this made the game play so much more enjoyable. Here is my favourite squad. The squad leader is armed with just a rifle with or without a GL but is carrying a RP pack. Then you have the riflemen that can mix it up to a point but must include atleast one NLAW/RPG, one Medic,One Sapper and One light MG (MINIMI or RPK). Yesterday we had the luxury of a Sniper, a slot that is often misused and abused by the 'lonewolf' types but our man Brute did a great job of providing overwatch to the squad as we advanced forward towards the enemies FOB. Whilst the main Squad advanced on the enemy FOB at the T-junction near Sahke, Brute was off to our left flank,higher up with eyes on the objective and giving us a running commentary of the opfors movements and actions within and around the FOB. He also had the means to take out targets of opportunity and to harrass the enemy as we advance closer to within grenade range. If a squad can get to within grenade range of a FOB then its fate is pretty much sealed, in this case we got there just once and Hooligan almost got close enough to lay his charges but was unfortunatly taken out at the last moment. An MG may have tipped the assault in our favour as we got closer but sometimes an MG can be a hinderance more than a help if more stealth than brute force is required. If an MG had been available it would have been best used by deploying to a two/three story building to our left or right flank with orders to hold fire until we were within 100M of the objective. Then by laying sustained fire onto the FOB in three round bursts this would have augmented Brutes excellent sniper fire thus allowing the assault force to fix bayonets and close with and destroy the fuzzy wuzzies. All in all a great game that included the shortest CAS attack in history by some f*$@tard in the wildcat and Billycrookfoot incesantly talking about mens bottoms............You name the place Billy and i will bring the bum ointment Steiner OUT! |

You'll need a cold salve after the squad has finished with you, you old Tart Steiner. No matter how much smut you talk in-game, I know you'll still be useless when you are needed most!
"Talking about bottoms" indeed! Must be hard to carry a medic backpack full of viagara at the same time as wearing tight leather chaps. |

Nice post mate, I remember this game well, I believe ol mate Steiner lost a bit of focus after a trip to "Bang Cock" with a backpack full of viagra was mentioned.

The problem is however that people who wish to play sniper like that usually find that all the sniper kits are already taken...
