Default Apache broken at night?

Never tried using the apache in the night untill today but the apache seems to be allot more useless during night missions than day. The thermals barely work WHOT or BHOT the only thing that works is NV, proof below.

YouTube Video

Possibly change or add a sight that is a thermal & night vision mode seen in certain vehicles in the ACE mod. It's basically like normal night vision but heat target stick out in black while the surroundings are green like normal NVGs. Also being able to adjust you're nvgs would be very helpful as well.

p.s our pilot couldn't even land at main because of the lights at main were ruining his vision and when he turned nvgs off he couldn't see anything

Uh from the brief time that I played ARMA, if you want to transition from NV to normal view, it takes like 30-40 seconds for your vision to 'adjust' to the low light conditions. I'm not sure if this is the case in ARMA2PR, but next time get your pilot to give that a try.

It might also apply to the thermal imaging as well... it's the only thing I can think of.

We haven't modified the way NVG or FLIR works. The way NVG is implemented in the game is pretty meh but, if anything, FLIR works far too well. You seem to be switching the views far too quickly for your eyes to adjust. There lighting overall also seems to be acting up (flickering ground).

We auto hovered at main for a bit, you can see but the lights are on the opposite side of base so the helipad area is basically dark and he didn't want to take the chance trying to land in beetween 2 merlins and a chinook.

At the start of the game once we put on thermals it only show a random burning vehicle. At 1:09 -1:13 I turn it back on to try it again, then at 1:52 when zoomed in almost all the way I can then only see hot thermal targets but none of there suroundings like buildings and etc. Thermals aren't like nvgs and don't take nearly as much time for you're eyes to get used to.

Think it might of been the weather/time of day combo. I was playing at the same time and without NVGs my screen was 99% pitch black, which is unusual. Also the lights at main were not actually illuminating the base, but far outside instead. Like 500m W into the hills. It was flickering all-around basically.

Shouldn't be an issue in the short term, since you'll be sticking to less 'unfavourable' environmental conditions on the server.

I bet the new beta is also an issue here.

Testing with the Beta's effect on night time play should be a thought.

This all being said I LOVED Battle of Rasman at night without NVGs.

FLIR works too well for detecting hot objects, but seems totally bugged when it comes to the rest of the environment. Sometimes the environment is pitch black and you can't see anything that isn't hot (and most objects in the game aren't programmed to show up any heat at all)!

You don't mess with the Zohar!
