I play Arma 2: OA with AMD Athlon 64x2 4800 @ 2.41GHz PNY Geforce GTS250 512mb 2gb DDR ram I can play medium settings in open environments, no aircraft and about 100 AI units with about 20FPS, and 70 AI units around 25 FPS, drop the settings to very low, and I can get about 35FPS. It's down to your CPU like others suggested. I'm intending on getting the AMD Phenom x4 955, which is at a very reasonable price, and this is the recommended CPU for Arma by BIS. | |

Really a quad core cpu is ideal for arma, that gfx is ok but its going to be slow on occasions if no quad and that cpu is about a quarter of what you need really

hello,
people this game is EXTREMELY CPU intensive, you need a fast CPU to have good FPS, I have said it so many times, buy yourself a amd 1075t 6 core CPU, and overclock this to 3.9 Ghz, also buy the asus crosshair iv motherboard, and then overclocking is really quite simple.. those 2 items will cost around 300 british pounds, maybe less.. I have that set up and can tell you it is a vast improvement over my old intel e6700 (3.2 Ghz) my minimum FPS was 15 before, now the minimum is 25 , and that is in really intensive areas playing at 1920 * 1080, high settings, post processing off and anti alising off.. on the game benchmark for operation arrowhead my intel system has a FPS of 42 FPS ( howver in game it went down as low as 15 ) and on my new AMD rig, the benchmark has shot up to 82 FPS ( and in game minimum FPS has been 25 in the intensive areas) ?300 pounds is not that much for playing this game at good settings.. |
