Default Need help installing

Hey guys. I'm a straight BF2 player. But recently my BF2 went hay wire and I uninstalled, attempting to reinstall failed(I think it's actually my computer that is messed up). Reguardless, I purchased ArmAII today in an attempt to be able to play something fun(and in hopes of playing the the PR Beta).

Long story short, I attempted to install the game and it failed on installation. EVEN BETTER- is that my computer now won't read the disk sinc eI put it in a second time(at this point I want to bash someone over the head with my computer).

Can anyone offer ANY Advice(RATIONAL advice:if i had the money for a new computer I'd have one by now). Please post! I'm pretty sick of not being able to play anything, and things not working is only aggrivation me more. Please help!
I would have put this under tech support but there is no forum like that for the moment and I cannot find a solution on the internet

Call a priest.

Seriously, do you have any idea what might be wrong with your computer?

Yes, I do want games to be more ambitious, to over-reach spectacularly,
to be more open and vibrant and mad.

You could try and install it through steam. Go to registser a product on steam. Put in arma 2 cdkey. Download. ??????? Profit.

System specs?

Is your CD-drive old, and could it be failing?

Love it. ????? Profit.
Haha, love that episode. Anyways that didn't work. THAT says the CD code is invalid(even though the exat same code was confirmed by ArmA2 installer.

BTW I was able to get the CD working, but for some reason it wont work AT ALL for certain other games

Anyways- It's prett much installed, except that like that time it stalls out when it's almost(so close!) downloaded. It's currently at "E:\ARMA2\AddOns\wheeled2.pbo\.gz"...Like it has been for the past 45 mintues or so.

It seems that this is the main problem with people having download issues. some random part of the download won't load and so it be able to install

I suggest you do a clean install. People with alot of problems and don't know what they are doing or how to fix their system should just reinstall the OS. Saves more time than explaining and you will have less frustration (even that reinstalling is a frustraton by itself)

This sounds like either a hardware issue or an OS issue. The fact that your OS is now failing to communicate effectively with the optical drive. I've had this before, and the only way I fixed it was a fresh OS install.

The only other thing I could suggest is use something like MagicISO on another PC or a friend's to make an image file of your DVD. Stick it on a large memory stick or external HDD, and use Deamon Tools Lite to mount it, and install from there. Please don't mention downloading an image from an illegal source
