Need help installing

Alright. I "clean installed" my entire computer. Put the essentials and "other essentials" back on. it's still basically a dog with its ribs showing though, so I tried to install ArmaII.

DISK WONT READ! (at this point I want to cuss Bill Gates head off and then take it off with my POS computer). Consider that JUST 15 minutes ago it read the Windows Office disk for installation- it should be able to read this ArmA2. Can anyone point out anything I can do to get ArmA2 to work(short of another computer)? I have enough cash for a haircut after buying ArmA2, and the patience of a child at this point. PLEASE HELP!

Bring back the disc if you can. And buy another one. Or is it not only this disc. If not than get another optical drive.

ummmm... not trying to sound like a jacka**, but have u tried the bis forums? Bohemia Interactive Forums - Powered by vBulletin they may be able to help you, but as they are a relatively small studio, they are very sensitive to piracy. it may be wise to include that you will pm any admin (its just as obvious there as it is here who the admins are) what your cd key and serial number, pop, and all those goodies are. other wise you spend a day getting b****** at for trying to pirate the game that you simply wanted tech support on before anyone actually gives you a solution im not bitter really.

Talking to my tech wiz girlfriend, she suggested that maybe I should wipe my hard drive, then reformat my computer, then try it(considering that my computer acts the way is does and can't read other discs as well).

Any specific ways to erase my hard drive? I tried the DBAN thing but couldn't get it to work

Put in your windows disc and format your hardrive from there.

Alrighty guys. Though I clearly have computer problem(still, after reformatting my computer), the problem appears to be in the disk itself... considering how it always stops right at the same point in the extraction/installation.

Someone said I should try putting ym CD code into steam and try to download it from there- but when I try it always tells me my code is invalid, no matter what I do.

Smash said disk with hammar, then computer.


Jk. Can You Run It? Powered by System Requirements Lab This website will tell you if you have min specs. If something blank shows up, thats your problem.


Otherwise, try reinstalling parts of your computer. Like your optical drive. maybe try, like what other people have said, borrowing an optical drive from someone. If it can't read the disk..


Go back where you baught it from and request a new disk.

I'm not 100% sure if this is legal or not, so don't act on it, but I cant see it being ilegal as you own the game already.. anyway, you COULD download a .ISO from a torrent site, install then just use your legit CD key

The .ISO would have to be from the same game publisher,STEAM for example would
have a different series (of serial numbers) for their version (from a physical DVD bought at a retail store).

Keep in mind that you can wash/rinse the disk with warm water and wipe it with something made out of cotton/micro fiber,assuming there is dirt present.

Is your DVD drive connected with the hard drive on the same cable ?
If so try separate cables or like the others have suggested a different optical drive
(especially if other disks have issues)
