Default [MISSION] Siege of Nagara

Objective: US forces need to search and destroy insurgent weapon caches in the town of Nagara and surrounding areas.

Description: A lot of people love CI gamemode and so do I. I wanted to create an alternative location for a cache hunt. The objectives are relatively spread out compared to most other maps, even though in the end I scaled back on that.

Air support will have an enormous role in this mission. Main base is quite remote and driving back and forth will get tiresome real quick. Air base is located in the other side of the map, so the initial air support will take time to get to the area of operations. Once there, you will find a tiny base for getting supplies, fuel and ammo. That supply depot however, isn't classified as a BASE script-wise. It means opfor won't be automatically killed if they enter the zone. If insurgents want, they can blow you up as you land! So it'll be up to the pilots whether they want it quick and risky or the other way around. Air base is safe and sound, but it is ~ 10km away. Depending on the playercount, bradleys will be spawned. (up to three) Unless crewmen fancy driving to main base all the time, the pilots will have to get them supplies.

The central town is Nagara and its terrain is brilliant. It is surrounded by some awesome rock formations and hills. I predict that some great battles will take place there. To keep things even more interesting and dynamic, I hid some easter eggs into the mission. Some cargo (like con. mats, AA crates, MG crates, etc) will sometimes be spawned in hidden locations. Eventually seasoned players will have some advantage. Knowledge is power. The best asset hidden out there is a ZU23 weapon on a back of a truck. It only spawns 1/3 of the times and even then, you would need to find ammo for it.

Used regular vehicles. You can find one bus and a handful of bicycles spawned however.

Summary: Tried to create a mission in which pilots have an important role. Air recon and transport will be a vital factor for bluefor. Before creating this mission, I never realized how delicate this process is. One change can turn the whole mission to crap. I guess we will have to wait and see.

If all parties agree, I would like to give this a test run on the RGG server.

Funny, I was just wondering how come there isn't any missions based around Nagara. I don't count the Green Zone where Ins has a main base there. Anyhow, good to see new missions.

The RGG server ran this mission today and it was really fun, though at the very start Blufor managed to get to the first cache well before the insurgents, dispite them having arrived as quickly as was possible. Though this was only a problem as I think the caches were probably the furthest distance from the Opfor base as they could get, them being outside the maximum distance for the deployment of hideouts.

Thanks. The public test was excellent for feedback by itself. Like you said, some areas that caches spawned in were not included as the hideout deployment zones. That will be fixed. However, if you need to rush to the first cache, the best way to do it, would be to choose the closest tunnel and take a vehicle from there.

Changelog:
- Minor changes with vehicles.
- Added one more tunnel for insurgents
- Increased the hideout deployment area.
- Reorganized US: Main Base.
- Switched most UH-60Ms with CH-47s (they had no missile warnings)
- Moved tunnel objects into the ground. (only hatches visible)

Did you use the US or UK Chinook?

Scaled down the mission size. Caches will spawn in Nur, Nagara and Gospandi areas. Moved main bases accordingly + more.
