Will command be featured within the mod to coordinate ground units and air/artillery support? I think it would be good for a command unit to co-ordinate ground units on missions, potentially strategically provide air support (actually dispatch real player pilots) and aswell as mortar/artillery support.
Just a question, I think this would be good because it would provide structure, keeping the british army together as one army rather than just 5/6 squads running round doing there own thing without other squads having a clue on what they are doing. |

To be honest I'm not sure if DR_Eyeball has this in his gamemode, if not I'm sure its something that can be put in pretty quickly (if its decided it would be a good addition).
If I remember rightly, all you need to do is add the High Command module and sync it to a unit in game. Then whichever player takes control of this unit would inherit the High Command role too. |

If you want you can integrate High commander yourself.. And otherwise somebody els does it. ARMA2 edior is verry flexible. If PR makes a bad ass mission to go along with the Mod, you can just UnPBO that mission and ad you'r own stuff in it like other units from different modders. Or different scripts. Aslong as you run it on your own clan server or private host and don't change the PR core i guess. But missions are handled different than mods in ARMA so there is no restriction with editting it.

However I think PR:BF2 players are expecting/anticipating standardized features for the servers like we have now. Rather then a bunch of custom servers with varying game play elements. If there's no server license system we'll just have to rely on 'Official' servers I guess.

It can be worse. Like COD and Source/HL game servers that make you download an indefinite amount of silly sound effects and skins before playing.

Yeah thats with mods... but if you have the PR mod for ARMA you automaticly have those standardized features. So nobody has to download extra mods mods, cause all the features you like about PR will be allready there. The only thing is that you have to open the editor and make a awsome game mode yourself if you are skilled enough. Those missions will be saved as a file missionname.PBO. Those files are automaticly downloaded when you join a server. And those files are standalone from the mod (but they won't work without PR mod).
-So if dude1 has mission A and he wants the high commander module that comes with PR mod in mission A. He opens the pbo file go's into the editor and implements the module within mission A, that becomes mission A2. -Dude 2 enters the official PR server and play's mission A2. With no need to download something els. -Dude 2 decides that he likes mission A2 with High Commander and copy's the mission from his MP Temporarly misson folder on his HDD and put it on his own dedicated server or hosts his own client. -Because mission.pbo's does not require a BI key you can never stop this from happening. -the good thing about this is that you will have tons of extra PR missions roaming around that you will be able to join with only PR mod (or also with other mods on non official servers). But i think that the BF2:PR players may find this also a bad thing. Cause at the end there will be 30 missions almost the same that are slightly different. -But you can easely go around that by joining your favorite server that likes to play thier own game modes. I hope you guy's can understand what i was trying to say there. PS: custom sounds and face skins can be disabled server side. (but thats most of the time not needed cause it will not slowdown the download process cause all those files have a max size) |

I probably should of just said before that it's great we can customize and add that sort of stuff ourselves, but OP likely wants the DEVs to include a command structure by default.

Well, PR now has different maps and different layouts of flags etc.
And still its not a repetetive game, is Arma2 repetetive? Im hoping for just downloading the mod, and have similar controls as BF2:PR with the additional commands and features explained somehow. |

Wicca!! what you mean with the question " Is ARMA2 repetitive?". ARMA 2 is one of the most non repetitve games around today. You can do anything and evrything you wan't with it. Some people even made a Cops and Robbers RPG game mode for it with 128 players being cops, civ's, drug dealers, or dealing in illigal weapons. You an play in the editor and make any scenario you want or just play PR with his tons of missions comming out with it. ARMA2 is your party... The only one that game make this game repetitive is your own imagination and resourcefullness (if that's a proper English
