Default In game Voices

Will the in game voice system be fixed if it is used at all? My biggest problem with the ARMA series is the robotic voices used, it takes away from all of the realism.

Well the ACE 2 mod managed to remove the voices so that proves it is possible, Besides you could just click on the options and turn the radio down

You can either turn the radio down. or I believe you can turn auroreporting off so unless you tell you character to say something they wont, the ACE system just removed any dialogue which is possible too.

Seeing as in PvP there are no AI I doubt you would use the radio commands anyway.

Unfortunately its not really possible to "fix" the voice system to make it more fluent, it certainly can be improved but because there are so many combinations that can be spoken it would take up too much room if you recorded each one whole.

Exclamation PLEASE check out this tool for TS 3

Hello... first of all.. Im so damn happy about the PR: arma 2 news....
I have a suggestion for you guys using this AWESOME tool for TS3...

Arma2TS - Bohemia Interactive Forums

This tool makes it possible to combine the use of TS 3 and its mumble function with high quality.. but ALSO adds a realistic radio function with a 300.000 possible channels..
with a frequency scanning system.. that makes it possible to tune into enemy radio even.

You will have 3 types of usage:

1) Direct speech
2) Short range radio (if you have a physical radio on your self)
3) Long range radio (if you possess one)

It is so genius.... I really hope you consider implementing this on your final version.

I'd advise against this for mutliplayer play. The radio volume also controls the volume of the voice chat (with the exception of direct communications which use the effects slider).

As you will presumably be playing PvP, the crappy voice system shouldn't bother you too much.
