Default Music on radio

Simple, if we could get some music going on vehicle radio. Sometimes, its a long way in, and some people would like something to do on the way there. Listening to music would do nicely.

Also, it'd make a pretty funny entrance if some truck came in with a truck load of infantry just playing Flight of the Valkyries. That is, till all those infantry came out... Or better yet, V-BIED's radio being the last thing you ever hear... Until you respawn that is.

It also has nostalgic value. In Battlefield Vietnam, we flew Hueys into combat playing Fortunate Son and blowing men apart with tanks playing Jefferson Plane or similar.

Additionally, there is a mod specifically for the purpose that I'm not sure if is compatible with PR, but it allows cars to play music. As well, some servers seem to have some sort of coding in Hueys or something to play music.

Also, if you're scared of it warning the enemy of your presence, with a helo or tank, they probably already heard your engine.

Anyone else up for music in vehicles?

Sounds like a great idea, i've used before on other mods and it really lifts the morale of the squad as you drive or fly into your objective

You should be listening to your squad leader, or your squad leader should be communicating with other squads.

It's a battle, not a bloody holiday.

The one exception to that is I do think we should have music when in a VBIED, more as a homage to PR BF2 than anything else. But for troops going into battle - no.

I've been known to use my iphone for this purpose on Vehicle Channel occasionally but usually, as Epoch points out, there is rarely the airtime when also trying to brief players about what to do when we get to the destination, how the driver/pilot is to get there - with continual navigation corrections, explaining what to do if we get bumped, checking what enemy or friendly units have been spotted on the map, giving spawn instructions to new players joining the squad, answering random questions from new players, and coordinating with other squads

Cheers,
Swedge

Perhaps I didn't think it through. I just thought it'd be useful as an option.

Guess this went down fast.

Oh well, fair enough.

Not really, I think its just something friends do for each other, our lads play welcome to the jungle on group when we're by ourselves when we ride into battle.

You just need to get into a group of lads who aren't milsim, but are very tactically orientated, so they can have fun and kick arse at the same time

Agreed instead of hopping in a chopper with a random pilot and having a long quite ride or even hearing him scream were going down I'd like to hear something entertaining while I fall to my death.

Yep, I was just going to say that. - Although it would be nice to have a vehicle radio, I would hate it if people spent more time adjusting the station than actually focusing on the objective which is exactly what will happen. However, if it's a genuinely long journey I can't deny that it's a nice morale boost when someone blasts out some tunes over vehicle.
