PC Games are getting bigger and bigger these days. Why? A lot of console fanboys are beginning to realize that buying a competitive PC isn't that expensive, that gaming PCs actually save you money in the long run and that the consoles are more than half a decade old and their age is really starting to show.

I agree with you and like the fact that it's going to get more mainstream. Even BF3 delights me and I know it's going to be horrendously unrealistic... look at the tremendous modding potential! Besides, it wouldn't hurt the Arma franchise at all if they decided to cut the fat and make it more of a lean, focused, intuitive machine. Having more intuitive and accessible control schemes might even make it more realistic in the long run.

I play Arma 2 all the time but I always shy away from command roles because it's a pain in the ass.

I agree, the way PC's will win is when it's evident to the casual gamer that PC only, or PC versions of games are a far richer and more fun experience than consoles offer. A2 is a great game, the only one I've played for over a year, but it's got too many hurdles for the average guy. Make it easy to play smoothly, easy to find a multitude of servers and it'll explode. It'll never be BF3, but it deserves to be far more than a niche game.

If Dice really wanted to conquer the gaming universe, they'd release mod tools, but that's another discussion.

People who play a game for 10 hours max (or even 40 hours) before they move on to the next game don't really care about all the comments made in the above posts, and unfortunately those make the majority of the population of people who spend money on games.

You don't mess with the Zohar!

Singleplayer sounds like Arma3: Mercenaries to me...

However, with these new cool features, it can be even better modding platform.

This seems pretty good. I like the aesthetic detailing on the vehicles, there is something about that hexi-cam that looks badass and evil.

And its safe to say that Mi-28 transport thingo looks amazing.

I recon PR players arent really looking for games, but for experiences. The problem with making a game like PR, or counterstrike even, is that people will spend a lot of time with that game and neglect spending more money on games. Unless you go Blizzard (subscriptions).

But then again, they wouldnt get much of my money anyway. I dont care about consoles anymore at all and I am veeeery picky about the games I buy. So far apart from arma only the coming warhammer space marines got my attention.
