From someone who knows, get the 1GB version of the GTX460 rather than the OC 768MB version, it'll work out better in the long run.
Look at your PSU to determine the brand etc, then look up the Amperage on the 12V rails. Make sure you've got 28A+++ on your 12V rails. |

@ puppetmaster, I very much doubt you can run the game at 70 FPS at max settings; lol stop talking rubbish and give some accurate facts.. so far every computer I have seen has dips and highs in FPS, and what screen resoution are you running,
@ op; this game is very CPU limited, you will be better off buying a new motherbaord and CPU, so dont spend teh money yet but save more money.. also @ op, I would nt take the advice of most people in this forum, as I have done lots of different testing and can tell you real facts.. and can tell you that most people actually talk ' CRAP '.. if you want real advice then you can PM me.. |

Both his GPU and CPU are weak. Not sure which is the bottleneck though since I don't know about the GT 240 (though you can probably search, and judging by its cost it's quite incredibly poor for Arma 2). If he only has 200$ to spend and won't be able to buy a new PC anytime soon, he might want to buy a 150-200$ GPU so that he can at least play Arma 2 on some low settings, but of course even a 500$ GPU won't let him max it out because his CPU is subpar.
His CPU is enough to run the game, though, it's not like he can't play it with that CPU, but yes, it's not a good one. |

Video Cards, Video Capture Card, ATI Video Cards, PCI Video Card at TigerDirect.com
Checkout the Tiger Direct top sellers. They gave me a good idea at what to look for, i too had about a 200 dollar budget recently when shopping for a new graphics card. I ended up checking out the tiger list then Nvidia's website. I upgraded my Evga Geforce 8800 gts with a GTS 450. The main reason for this was it was the best card with the amount of power i had available. My Dell xps 410 only says it has a 375 watt limit but after some research i found out that dell under rates their power supply so it works fine (400watt) for the gts 450. Until i get a bigger budget and decide to upgrade my CPU/power supply this was the right choice. |
