Exclamation Operation Arrowhead, PR: ArmA2 and Mini Update

This was going to be part of a News Post I am in the process of putting together however in the intrim:

PR: ArmA2 will be using Operation Arrowhead for its future Development.

After spending some time looking at all the pros and cons, and assessing OA, a decision has been made to move across to OA.

Its undecided whether both ArmA2 and OA will be required, as we are still looking at all options, however Players WILL need OA for the release of PR: ArmA2.

In terms of our release, we have had a few setbacks (factored in as always with release schedules), due to some Devs leaving / being removed, and a whole new bunch of 1st class Devs coming on board, that tied in with assessing OA, means we now have to move everything across and develop a little more within OA.

Other than that, the team are going strong, and we are very happy with our progress so far.

Our Gameplay (main focus), is looking very, very good. Testers are starting to report they can now feel that PR theme ..... exactly what we are aiming for.

I will not put a date (as always with PR) on a possible release, however it will be at least October before we will have anything we can call PR standard, nothing will be released unless it meets that standard.

A detailed News Post will follow in the next few weeks, for you all (with some eye candy)

Good and bad news! Bad news is that I'll have to spend another $40. Good news is that we get a nice progress update.

If you love us you'll post a gameplay video in the next big update.

Have you updated this in the FAQ, for those who are new to the mod and haven't seen this topic (as it will drop in the list)?

Anyways, sounds good. I'll buy CA probably

I hope so, I hate Arma 2! I've felt bad about buying it ever since I did because I can't be bothered to play it. I guess I should give it more of a chance, I haven't even fired it up in over a year.

Once I found out PR is coming out for Arma2, I was relieved that I might not have wasted that money and now they're changing to OA! I'll still buy it, though. PR is worth it!

Indeed good news.

Why do you hate ArmA? Would you care to elaborate a little please?

I'm a big realism nerd but I also enjoy fun and teamwork (and love when they co-exist). I love Project Reality because for me it's the perfect balance between realism, fun and teamwork.

I don't have anything against the idea of Arma 2... I just didn't like it. It's just a sandbox full of neat stuff and a headache-inducing, unintuitive control scheme. It's hardly a game.

In PR, I can jump in =H= server or TacticalGamer's server at any time and get teamwork/communication. I tried jumping in Arma 2 servers only to find a lot of bugs and a lot of people running around doing their own thing without communicating in an overcomplicated mess where no one is really sure what they're supposed to be doing.

Then there is the fact that you have to have a specific cocktail of mods just to play online now and there are very few PvP servers up despite the horrible, horrible, horrible AI (I feel like an idiot when I sneak through the woods with a squad for 10 minutes just to see a V-shaped line of enemy standing in a big field).

I can't be bothered. People told me that if I know the right people, join a clan, blah blah blah... that I can have decent experiences in the game but honestly I don't have the time for that and I'm a patient guy.

I hope that PR at least makes Arma 2 more intuitive and more like an actual game that you can play. Don't get me wrong, I expect it to be extremely realistic but I also expect it to be enjoyable and not a chore like Arma 2 felt to me.
