Good move OA is far better equiped for project reality and is actually a better game than the original. Looking forward to see what you do.

What about people who bought Arma2 for Arma 2 PR and now they have to buy another version of Arma which means an extra cost. I'm not talking about money, but this seems meaningless, and i dont want to buy OA anymore. Not everyone has the same amount of money in their pocket so idk what the solution is going to be about this cuz as i said, there are many people who just bought Arma 2 for PR Arma2 project.

Good to hear

In PR, I can jump in =H= server or TacticalGamer's server at any time and get teamwork/communication. I tried jumping in Arma 2 servers only to find a lot of bugs and a lot of people running around doing their own thing without communicating in an overcomplicated mess where no one is really sure what they're supposed to be doing.
PR: ArmA2 will solve that.

Then there is the fact that you have to have a specific cocktail of mods just to play online now and there are very few PvP servers up despite the horrible, horrible, horrible AI (I feel like an idiot when I sneak through the woods with a squad for 10 minutes just to see a V-shaped line of enemy standing in a big field).
PR: ArmA2 will solve that.

This was taken as a very serious consideration, but we would be stupid as a team to stay on ArmA2 alone. We want this Mod to be "current" and up to date, we have spent many months on this Mod, and if we released on ArmA2 it would not have the same impact as releasing with OA ...... as it is far more superior, and has left ArmA2 now deserted pretty much.
It would be like starting a Mod from scratch on the BF2 engine now. The whole reason for this Mod (ArmA2 version), is to bring PR upto date and current.

I totally understand your concerns, but believe me this was well thought out, with the intentions of producing a far better product, at the end of the day the whole project is for the Community.

Of course we can never please every community member, I understand that.

If you have not played OA, you may be surprised when you do !!

I bought Arma2 just to play PR. I tried but could never get into Arma2 the same way I did BF2. Was hoping I'd get my money's worth out of Arma2 once PR came out but it looks like that's not happen anymore.

I played the OA demo and while it LOOKS great, what else is there makes everybody say that its a better game than Arma2? I guess I'll bite the bullet and buy OA but I'm just wondering WHY its so great?

I fell that it runs smoother, and they've added new stuff, such as "real" thermal imaging. And since ArmA2 isn't all that expensive, it's just like you'd buy a super-mega-hyped-up-into-the-skies-basicly-in-orbit-around-the-moon-game and an expansion pack for it.

Incognito, this isn't really a problem with the game itself, but more of the problems with the missions people make and the server admins that run the servers. Apparently no mission maker can be bothered to (or at even has the ability to properly) make such missions and server admins seem to rarely be bothered with kicking players that ruin the game. Same goes for addons picked - Simply a combination of server admin and mission maker problem. PR should fix all of those, hopefully with success, as the game itself does not cause those issues.

Sure you can blame BIS for making 1/2 a game, but at least they made 1/2 a game while other companies make 0, at least if you're looking for games that give you what Arma 2 / Operation Arrowhead gives, and 1/2 is better than 0, especially when the community and the PR team have the ability to make up for most of the missing 1/2.

The list is quite long... Somewhat proper thermal vision, much better buildings (with islands that use them) and much better movement inside of buildings, lasers/flashlights on weapons, improved driving... Just to name a few... You can easily find more if you just search or download the demo.

I've just had a game on OA but the main problem is that every single gamemode to me is crap. Theres no communication, not as many people on a single server as what can happen in PR [64] & people don't help one another. I hope for controls that are not all muddled up [and in general] in the controls option with no way of knowing what they do. I still don't know how to combine a mouse button + another button together. Im also hoping for less menu screens and for the ai to go leaving the 1 to 0 keys in use. No-more respawning helis and more points to respawn at please! Right now the multiplayer in Arma2 + OA is very poor imo.

I hope they keep the look around button though so i can see over my shoulders :P

Like we have said, the reason why we are bringing PR to Arma / OA, is as most people have said !!
