Default ArmA II PvPscene Community Site

Sincere thanks to UKF and Gaz letting me post here in the PR forum to
share with you guys our rather new project called PvPscene.

The PvPscene project has the goal to strengthen both the ArmA II public
PvP scene as well as the competitive scene. The main target is of course
the release of the standalone Addon Operation Arrowhead out later this year.

The fresh news of Pr:ArmA2 obviously fits perfectly into this agenda.

PvPscene offers so far:

  • ===The PvPscene forum ===

You find people to advertise leagues, events or new missions there.
It is a place to discuss gameplay, new ideas, missions or leagues.
Basically anything related to the PvP field.

If you want to get in touch with long time key players of the OFP till ArmA II
competitive scene this is the place for you!
.
  • === The PvPscene wiki ===

First and foremost it is a place to share information in the community.

You can read about ArmA II game configuration (very important)
and Gameplay tips and tricks there. You find find an extensive list
of events and leagues available in ArmA II or get more information
about PvP game modes, like AAS or CTB, and addons/MODs (WIP).
.
  • === The PvPscene Addon Packs ===

Similar to the PR:ArmA2 one package approach, they are a collection
of selected and excellent community made modifications to boost
the experience in various ways (visuals, FPS, gameplay and more).
There are in a couple of different compositions available . Easy to download
with the Yoma Addon Sync app and the extensive guide to get you through
the deep water of addon use in ArmA.

Alright - thanks for the attention and interest guys.

Before signing out make sure to check out the wiki pages about
Especially the PvPscene version of AAS has a lot of similarities to PR gameplay.
You are recommended to give the vimeo video channel a go to get a good impression.
Follow the link above to get in depth details in our wiki!

Thanks again, welcome to the ArmA II PvP community
and let's start counting seconds till the PR:ArmA II 0.1 release.

best regards
.kju

Yes guys you have to check it out great stuff kju did in this PvPscene. Didn’t have time to congratulation kju on his amazing job there and change he is made for CB AAS about CoolBox and his AAS popularity of this mod or better say missions because you can play it without any modification everything what is need to function is in mission file itself not bugger than 500 KB working smooth with 100 players on the map also you can turn on AI support if you want.

One more things you have to take seriously everything what kju say because he is one of top 10 guys in ArmA community measuring by the respect he got from other people in ArmA community.

My regards and thanks to kju.

gday Howitzer

yes we were playing Devastation a couple of times.

In fact I have made Dr Eyeball a project space at dev heaven to improve the presentation
and organization, as well as gave him feedback a couple of times, like several other people
in the BI forum.

I can see the potential of the game mode, like a couple of elements, say the custom
scoreboard, mobile spawn points, quick communication.
At the same time it was not easy to play Devastation. For one as available missions were
fairly large and therefore required a rather big player count (15-20) for decent gameplay.
Also there is a rather big entry level to understand the game mode. So it proved not to
work well to try to play it with random public players as they did not understand it and
the system was back then at least not as polished to guide the new players enough.

Overall we prefer so far the more action based and easier to get into game mode AAS.
Another big plus for it being that it is very actively developed while Dr Eyeball was unable
to spent time to polish Devastation more back then.

Especially for competitive play we are eager to see what the PR:ArmA2 package including
an updated version of Devastation will deliver.

I will like to add something about AASX as branch of AAS. Main coding stuff of the AAS is done by wizard named CoolBox he is also doing all coding for AASX adapting to my ideas. Barmy Army and Viper Maul also working on some squad rally point based on my idea which will be implemented as squad forward spawn also it is base for similar version they will use in AToW.

Right now AASX is steel in Beta phase but very near to go public also out there on some servers you can run on AASX Electricity map it is first small Beta map just to give first preview in AASX.

This will be most close to PR than any mission out there right now even provides some more features.
