This one depends on the mission makers, and the players, you can win a warfare match in ArmA II in 10 minutes to days, there is A LOT of variables.

You need to understand that PR:A2 is going to come with missions(From what I've read, it will be a remake of Devastation), but you will also be able to make your own.

I've been part of game where it would be 24 hours long, though it usually taxes the hell out of the server doing it, especially when tracking that many players.

It is a lot of fun though and I could see there being many an epic battle for areas in Arma2pr

The difference between the 2(ALTHOUGHT i haven't played for a long time) is that BF2:PR has tickets, while Arma 2 doesn't. Alas, BF2:PR has a round limit too, but AFAIK it is a server side setting and mission maker too.

Qaiex: My solution was to not have twitter. You should try it. Feels good, and I don't miss any information that was worth hearing in the first place, since nothing on twitter ever is.

Another reason I wouldn't mind if the Arma2 version of PR had tickets as well, since if it didn't then folks could be overly cautious and make games last too long for most folks to stick around for.

It is one of those balancing acts between realism and fun playing in which I think fun should get a bit of an upper hand.

One of the biggest problems for me concerning bf2r are the long rounds (for me). I wish Arma 2 rounds (or whatever it's called) are separated into missions (30min to 1:30h duration). Even if the missions were interlocked (as in, there is no "round change", just fluid), I wish each mission could have a short round duration.

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple!

Mission would be what we call 'rounds' so you are saying you would want the mission to be broken down into individual objectives so that folks can get the sense of accomplishment and helpfulness without having to stay for the whole mission.

That is currently possible and I think even an AAS style game could last a long time, but holding a flag could be a lot of fun.

I believe its easy enough to script in a ticket system in ARMA

SBSMAC pretty much has an AAS system that I helped him beta test early on, we were even looking into an insurgency style system at one point but I think he focuses more on the AAS style pvp now.
