The reason they are doing this is because desert style maps run very very well in Arma2, I'd imagine that even a PC that falls even below Min specs could run an arma2 desert map.

Arma2 isn't a PC killer(don't expect an average PC to ramp up max settings etc, this game is future proof) as some would have you believe and it certaintly isn't a bad game, ignore the first reviews and please steert clear of the demo (it isn't good at all).

The game is patch 1.05 (5 patches since release) and has improved greatly. I think Arma2 on steam is like $25 and I'm sure any local shop would stock it for less, lets face it your likely to get years of gameplay from it and things will only get better as the technology does, Arma2 to a point is future proof as your PC gets better keep ramping up the settings

Id like to point out on steam arma 2 is 49.99.....
No where near this so called 25 dollars lol

I allready have ARMA2 and i hope to play PR: ARMA2 mod smootly together with ACE2 mod. Because ACE2 doens't have MP versus games as priority, i hope PR for ARMA2 has. So i can combine them and have even better gameplay than i have now.

Hmm i played the Arma 2 demo, didn't enjoy it really so most likely i will not.

Grimsoldier.. You totally right.. The ARMA2 Demo sucked. Just like the Armed Assaulth Demo. But the game itslef is verry different and you will be shcoked how much fun it can be if you like realism.

I'm buying a new computer next week, hopefully with it's specs and awesome price (though it's refurbished, I have a friend who will help me with any computer problems...he owes me a favor) it will run ARMA 2, and when I get ARMA 2, I won't even bother to play more than 15 minutes of the game unless I'm optimizing it or playing this mod.

LoL try the editor and you will be bussy for weeks..

This (the vid) is what you can do in the editor with no scripts at all. Only some handy commands and waypoints.

I will hopefully get ArmA2 from a friend who sold his PC Last week. He's getting ready for college and decided to not keep it. Has that and a few other games I might be able to pick up

Already got it and already obsessed with it, The mods that are already out improve the gameplay dramatically. The realism is spot on and the firefights are very addicting although alot of scenarios involve patiance like traveling etc, remember ARMAII isnt some "00B3R L337 D3LTA R3C0N" crap, its realistic if you want somthing to challenge you to a new feel of combat realism then ARMA is for you, if you want somthing where you can run into a base with a g36 and kill every enemy in sight then you can sod off..
