on some servers arma voip seems to be rather stable, on others it is...erm...very unreliable.

IF it works however, it usually works quite nicely. there are several channels:

global - talk to everyone
side - talk to your side/faction
vehicle - talk to ppl in the vehicle ur in
direct - as mumble, directional audio
commander - SL's and Commander

also, when using any of the non-direct channels what you say is also transmitted in the direct channel which is kinda neat

I use VON all the time and never have any problems or issues with it.

VON+TS2 (channel commander for squad leader and important communication)

Hey Force, what is hacked in Arma2TS? We use it at TG and it has worked like a charm. It also added a new level of play that we never thought of before. Its a very nice addition.

There are a few things after it was looked at that are not ideal, ie clipboarding etc, however yes it does work ok.

We have a guy working on this as we speak to develop it further into a PR VOIP, with a few adjustments we hope

I'm afraid due to this :
A2 Community Issue Tracker - Feature #9436: Implement Basic I/O so ArmA can talk to other applications - DH: (ArmA) Development Unraveled (check the last comment)
you will have to work with clipboarding for communication between ArmA2 and other processes, whatever VoIP solution you envision

Look at this. This is exactly what is missing to make a good VOIP system:
It works with BattleEye (#7) !
