3rd person can be turned on/off by servers I believe.

What do you mean by the night maps?

with Vet mode enabled there is no 3rd person view, this can also be toggled by the server.

Vet mode for Infrantry is good, but makes flying a whole new ball game

The Arma2 Airforce is being prepared, fuel have been checked, systems checked....

OK:

Player limit: as has been said, there have been ~120 players or so on some servers, there is no theoritical limit, just server and bandwidth bottlenecks. The player count will only increase with better server hardware.

Day/Night: Arma2 has a 24hour cycle so you can start at whatever time you want. The time is 1:1 as well and the lighiting will change as the mission goes on (although not much as you would expect in real life)

Maps: there are 2 offial maps, one is 225km^2 and another smaller one is .... can't remember. There are also a ton of high quality user made maps (no joke on the high quality part), check out isla duala, quesh kibrul, thirsk island (WIP) etc. Desert maps usual have much higher frame rates than those with dense jungle/forest

can we turn on/off <whatever>??: 99.9% of settings in arma 2 can be changed either by the server (e.g. force third person and crosshairs off) or via mission (e.g. weapon restrictions). literally everything is down to the mission designer/server config.

- Will there be a ''skirmish'' mode, infantry-only, cap/flag capping style, on smaller scale maps... ?

- With these 2 factions, I take it that it will be only insurgency style on large scale ?

- Will it still imply destroying caches, with the actual info/civilian style ?

1. I've seen maps over 500 sq km in ArmA 1, default is 255 square km
2. Player limit is so high that I don't see a server hitting the limit while not dying for at least a decade, probably two decades. It's not a set limit, I think it's a float number (so high that you need scientifc notation to write it in a programming text book), yes I have tested the actual limit it would allow before.
3. Time of day changes as you play, and missions can be set to any time of day, and any day of the year.
4. Not anymore, ArmA 1 was, but ArmA 2 is pretty solid by now.
