Awesome same again we are going to lock the server, this time though we aren't going to let in on non reserves so only reserves can enter late into the game.

Basically you need to sign up lads otherwise you aren't playing in the future events.

Suggest 2 compulsory rules too:

Non-tracer mags not allowed.
Marksman class must stick with his squad (and not on his own as a mini fail sniper)

We can enforce this via scripting during the session.

This is how we intend PR to be played.

Agree with this statement. Marksman as well as machine gunner has to stick with his squad and provide support.

This one almost killed me. Why the hell you want to remove non-tracer mags !? In real life tracers are used only on mounted weapons for example on the humwees so that the gunner could easily fire accurately while moving or infantry soldier who could use a tracer to mark the target for his friends who don't see the target but it doesn't mean that all squad has to go to war equipped only with tracers. Soldiers has the right to choose how they will be using their ammunition.

For example in our military we take 5 to 6 mags equipped only with non tracers and 2 to 1 mags with every second tracer loaded. I do that in real life and i do the same in the game. If i take 8 mags, one of them will be tracers but most definitely not all of them. Your suggestion of removing non-tracers would create a great laser show but then PR would be closer to arcade because in real life no one does that.

And btw i don't understand people in game who are using tracer rounds all the time. When playing, me and my friends mostly do recon, ambushes, patrols, ect.. when all squad starts firing with tracers it's peace of cake for us to find their positions and destroy them all.

So basically i like how things are right now, i get to choose my load out and i'm really happy with that.

Our military advisers have stated that tracer mags are used by NATO forces on patrol. You would not go on patrol without them. Therefore, for balance, this applies in game to all factions.

We are removing non-tracer rounds in the next release, so get used to it now. They should have been removed last release, but somehow crept back in. This is not a discussion point. It is a statement of how we are proceeding.

Anyway, I don't want to derail this thread. Keep it on topic now please.

The game-play the Devs are trying to encourage is closer ranged engagements and working together, if that means putting tracer mags on everyone then so be it, lately we have had too much crap team-play so I can see why they are doing it.

Often people will fire their guns off without even letting the rest of the squad know what they are firing at, and lately tactics of an unsavoury nature have been used which not only destroys the game-play but drives away new players, it wouldn't surprise me if in a few months the rest of the Arma community thinks PR is a base camping game.

Sometimes things need to be done to help a small community grow, otherwise this community is going to get smaller and smaller, then you'll just be ambushing yourselves.

Also I think PR's military Advisers can give a better idea on tracer rounds and their uses in conventional warfare, im not sure how it works in the real world I only know it will help the community of PR if we do this
