RGG is planing PR lessons event for increase speed of learning curves and prepare you to enjoy in this great mod. Consider this post as sort of questionnaire where we need your info to cover as much as possible and as much you need.
So pleas don't comment just try to put your interest and answer the questions so we could make it more interesting and useful. We will divide this in 5 part.
Try top answer in way like this: 1. I like to see this, that and that. 2. I like to see this, that and that. 3. I like to see this, that and that 4. I like to see this, that and that 5. I like to see this, that and that This will help us prepare event and to cover everything you want. Without you we could miss something because most of us taking some things for granted and wondering how someone don't know that but actually it is normal. Thanks. |

My idea would be to pair experienced players with new players in squads of 2 to 6 people.
Name "Squad Basic Training" Squad Leader (experienced player) - New Player 1 - New Player 2 - New Player 3 - New Player 4 This kind of environment would provide a 2 way learning process and build friendship assuming these squads then go on to fight with what they've learned You could call this PR Networking :P Other squads for different training can be assigned as well eg. Helo training. This is manageable in-game with the squad management system and also gives the new player the option to choose where he would like to refine his skills and knowledge. |

I would be most interested in points 3-5. They should include things like: formations, effective moment through a urban area, strategic maneuvers(not only flanking), makings use of assets, using fireteams, cooperation with infantry and vehicle squads.
This kind of event/s should provide some kind of a standard for all players on how: communication, leadership and tactical use of vehicles look like. Most importantly it should create friendship and trust between players and encourage squad lead and tactical game play. From my observations whenever there are good, thinking squad leaders present the realism and FUN level dramatically spikes. |

I would like to see some training focused around proper use of the map and accurate marking of targets. Im guessing this would be covered under point 1 and 2 though.
In basic training I think it would be good if possible to demonstrate to new players why going lone wolf is both not enjoyable or constructive. Im not quite sure how to demonstrate this properly yet but will have a think and see if I can come up with something. All I can think that shows it right now is having played a round with good teamwork and good communication. For some advanced training I would like to see some lessons on how to use the mortars correctly. I have done some reading on the forums but I am not confident enough to go pick up a mortar and start throwing rounds down the map. |

Hi,
I think I would like to see all of the points above but the thing is everyone can read or watch manuals and know basics, so getting on the server and getting to know: Ok, here you have crates for FOB, request this one and this one, load it and go to the place where you want to set it, unload, unpack, build FOB, job done soldier is for me pretty pointless, although some who didn't read or watched other manuals might learn. My point is that theoretical knowledge is there to grab, execution and doing it for yourself is what makes you remember, makes you not"shy" to try it on a full server and teaches you what to do, how to behave instinctively. So as for me I would like to see how it looks like from the point of view of the vet and maybe let people be part of it as well, do it for themselves, not only watch. So for example: For the FOB you need to take this this and this. Bob, request for me this, Joe request for me that, Pete load this crate, Tommy, load that one, George, get us also TOW crate, TOWs are useful in this types of location and that types of scenarios. Now, choosing location for FOB. Suitable locations for FOB are this and that. Open your maps (considering map reading was already covered in previous lesson)and tell me where do you think would be a good place for FOB on a map we are now. Thats a good location Bob because [...], This is bad location George, because [...] well, its getting a bit long, but I think you get the picture. This is only my opinion, but for me truly useful would be that kind of training, brought from the battlefield not straight from the manual. (thats after about 2 hours of horrid experience on one of the servers with bad people) EDIT: Also some tips, even most simple ones that would make life easier for newbies, like any changes to key bindings thats beneficial during fighting for example. |

I'd like to see a course in friend or foe recognition. The squad radar, combined with the map, audio from weapons, voice, footsteps, engines, and paying attention to uniforms and "enemy spotted" messages should be enough to prevent all but the most unfortunate friendly fire mishaps! Sadly this is not yet the case...
