Exclamation RE: Suggestion: Increase Battle Preparation Time

Can't replay to original post. So posting here...

Then I saw this title it felt like someone kicked me into balls...

How someone could come up with this idea? HOW? Isn't enough 3,5min to organize?

Few quotes:
Quote:
...Less panic and pedestrian accidents (inadvertent vehicle TK's)...Preparing assets such as helo's, eg. loading helo with FO's, ammunition, flares, passengers getting parachutes. Choosing drivers and pilots.
Coordinating transport
Deciding and coordinating strategy and tasks with other squads
Briefing squad on your objectives, with tips and advice, fielding questions...
From these quotes I can only tell that this person/squad/team is to slow to play this game. This is war game not a puzzle game with endless time to think, discus or evaluate your move...

Preparation time is over? Here is no need for you to rush into battle... You can stay at the base, have a discussion about your moves, drink tea or talk about the weather but it will cost you.

Couple ideas how to improve this "preparation time":
  • Remove preparation time from INS team.
  • Reduce or remove preparation time for OPFOR team in A&D game mode.

By the way:
Quote:
Building anticipation for battle! (anyone who has played scheduled clan Arma events knows the sheer joy that can come from the teamwork, tactics, and preparation that can go into big games before the first shot is even fired)
I played and no wonder why majority of players have no interest in it.

That quib done, it seems you are already in the minority. Most who play PR:Arma2 are not in it to rush and twitch. You also seem to miss the point of the quote. The point, I believe, was not to have more time to socialize in base but to have less downtime, accidents and confusion once battle begins.

You mean most who *still* play Arma 2. Since most sane people who like some action just quit the game when they are forced into having no action. Not a lot of people are willing to give this game a chance just because it is more realistic than any other game. Then you are left with a lot of players who want to plan for 2 hours just to drive for 1 hour and then die 10 seconds after they reach their last waypoint. Of course I'm exaggerating here, but you get the idea. The UO community (or any other community) is not a representation of the general population of legal owners of Combined Operations.

As for the preparation time itself, I'll leave that for the original thread.

You don't mess with the Zohar!

Lol. There's a superb reason for why you can't reply to the original post.

Cheers,

Some cliches are based on truth, I guess

Battle Preparation is the most vital part of any game. If a team can focus and collaborate properly (which most are now!) then it can be absolutely devastating for the opposing forces.

- FO Discussion and intelligent positioning
- Proper packing and formation of assets while the vehicles are being fuelled
- No more mad rush out of base with people being left behind, due to the mad grabbing of assets

The best part is you can still rush out when the timer finishes, but this time be much more efficient as you have a direct objective to proceed to. (Capturing or setting up FO's as an example.)

As a result, I don't see how your suggestion can improve game-play in any way, which is key to PR ARMA2. (Even if it is only for the insurgency side.)

Saying this is not true. - Currently we all use the battle-preparation system, so what you are saying is that we are all slow to play the game? Even yourself.

The OP was given an infraction for posting a suggestion/about a suggestion outside the suggestion forums and for his attitude.
