I'm seeing a lot of "like in ACE."
Too much. When you're making a game, or in this case a mod, there will be a lot of "Like in's". Usually in pr it's "Like in real life" stuff, but as I browse the suggestion thread it's all "Like in ACE" over and over and over again. It's not even offset by any other "Like in V:Arma2" or "like IRLs" Not every system in Pr should be like the one in ACE. ACE is designed to be overly complex and unwiedly to manufacture depth from superficial mechanics. If the DEVs were to make EVERYTHING exactly like ACE, they'd just be wasting their time recreating a system that already exists, and does what it's designed to well. I personally prefer Pr, the way it stands now, even with it's ample short comings, bugs, desyncs, herp derpers, and the like. The community and experience for A:Pr has yet to build to a fully entertaining level, but that's not entirely the fault of Pr. You pull one of the more competent teams off UO and you'd eliminate many of problems of an average Pr game. It's not the DEVs fault, it's yours, the player. Well TBH it's not your fault, if you're interested enough to read this forum, it's those other guys. You know who I'm talking about. So in conclusion, don't hate the game. There just needs to be heavier admin presence to keep the retards out. |

People want like IRL, and ACE usually does just that. Makes sense for people who want things to be like IRL to ask for them to be like they are in ACE. Let's face it, ACE currently does a pretty good job at enhancing the realism in the game. PR - Not so much - At least not yet...

I also dont like when people use this phrase but honestly its hard not to when they actually have stuff that you think PR should have. And sometimes the easiest way to describe something is just to say "like ______ mod"
For example, the backpacks. The fastest easiest way to get my point across of what i think the backpacks should be like in PR is "like in ACE" |

You might want to have a better look at the features list. ACE fixes so many realism issues from vanilla Arma 2 that I have no more interest in playing vanilla. The only reason I play PR right now (which, at least currently, is very similar to vanilla in terms of realism) is because it actually lets me play on servers with players where I can fight against other players in a game mode that is not warfare/ctf/tdm/vanilla-aas.

There is not competition between ACE and PR period.
Comparison will be better like there is not possible competition between i-phone and i-pad similar but completely different purpose. Even if in the future something happened and ACE and PR get in some cooperation, I'm talking hypothetically, and PR implement some things from ACE for example this features will be changed and adopted so will be need to be implemented in PR mod separately from ACE and could be working differently in PvP environment. ACE is enhancement to ArmA and PR is completely new approach to PvP in ArmA. Those are facts and completely different things and after all I don't get why some people still look on PR as ACE competitors or even threat to ACE. Such attitude just complicate situation for both teams. |
