The funny facts are most public ACE servers are setup to have the most basic server profiles, where 3rd person is always used and regular to veteran settings is required as its public coop against AI.

PR beta servers are set up as Mercenary (Expert) and with no 3rd person at all.
PR PvP with no 3rd person who would have thought flying would become a mans sport

There is not competition, PR:Arma is already player# ahead and its just beta lol, ACE lacks in playability for the common player also the ACE community is less welcoming to new players than the PR community

A very silly comment above you must have missed the thousands of hours of help documents and videos regarding the mod.

Comparison will be better like there is not possible competition between i-phone and i-pad similar but completely different purpose.

Even if in the future something happened and ACE and PR get in some cooperation, I'm talking hypothetically, and PR implement some things from ACE for example this features will be changed and adopted so will be need to be implemented in PR mod separately from ACE and could be working differently in PvP environment.

ACE is enhancement to ArmA and PR is completely new approach to PvP in ArmA. Those are facts and completely different things and after all I don't get why some people still look on PR as ACE competitors or even threat to ACE.

Such attitude just complicate situation for both teams.
Well said.

I played ace a bit, one thing which is irritating is the interaction menu, it drives me nutz

Lucky PR with its camo rose came to my rescue and i uninstalled ACE.
So im waiting what PR:A2 brings next =)

PR is just a beta right now and already has much players. ACE is mainly played in COOP, which maybe also influenced by the warping issues -> PvP is hardly fun. But looking at the featurelist you have so many different things you wanna have in PR also (weapon resting, bipods, better ballistics, better scopes, wind, better recoil, backupsights [since arma1], bullet penetration [.50cal through walls etc], complex logistic system, rucksacks, AT backblast and much more). Noone says these features were never implemented in any game - hell most of them were in PRBF2. But concerning ArmA ACE is the mod which has all this and much more - and it works good (main factor i guess). So i would second galzohar and Conman51. This is not about competition its just easier to point at this direction as it is - in my opinion - a very good step into some kind of more realistic gameplay.

come gentlemen, comparing a fully established mod that has been releasing for ages with a mod that just released its 0.1 BETA is a bit unfair...

I've not tried ACE, but from what I've read its an excellent mod that deserves respect; and if people prefer that mod they should play it. PR is on a different road to ACE, and once the A2 team is further down the track instead of just being out of the starting gate I have indomitable faith that you will all be enjoying their work with gusto, which will be on a entirely completitive level to ACE - and competition at the end of the day is usually good for the consumer in both camps as it pushes teams to do better.

I was actually going to post something about it today too. I find it a little nerve wrecking that some people are pinpointing logical stuff like the DEVs are too dumb to notice.

Most ACE suggestions that I read (if not all) are nothing but a literal "copy it" without offering a substantial opinion in how to improve what was already done by them. Also when someone suggest something like a vehicle shouldn't explode right away, that the reloading is too fast or more realistic ballistics then it's almost like implying that those were all genius ideas by ACE. They're so simple and logical that you're doing nothing other than wasting forum space. Even a 10 year old would naturally come up with that.

If someone is so hasty to present a suggestion, the very least try to be original or tell DEVs how they could tweak a nice feature from another mod to make it theirs.

Also, give it time, still in Beta phase ffs.

Just because people like realism improvements from ACE does not make them ACE fanboys and PR haters, and going against such suggestions just because "it's like in ACE" does nobody any good. PR could very much use some (or even a lot) of the ACE realism tweaks, just like Arma 2 vanilla can really use them. From my experience most of them make the game that much better.

You don't mess with the Zohar!
