Default Area attack

Anyone else feel that the area attack is inadequate? After calling in countless area attacks ontop of enemies that are camping in buildings and such.. Such a let down
I mean I had it placed perfectly ontop of them and they just run and hide after the first round touch down and miss (usually always missing on the first one)

I mean the time it takes from launch to contact is realistic but the amount of damage and radius is well... horrible. After waiting all this time and anticipating the big boom to break the enemies assault or erode their defenses, you end up not hitting much.
Possibly that one unlucky guy but everyone else scatters fast enough to get out of radius due to our insane speeds.

Plus it if an enemy was inside a building, they would not be harmed.
Even though it would take out a cache if it was underground.

Experience=calling area attacks on just about every game a I play and recording countless failures despite Spot On targeting of enemy. And YES i know what I'm doing.

Hopefully they would allow smoke barrage support for the squads- adds more stuff for the commander plus it can allow for better tactics. (don't matter if its "real" or not b/c game play wise would make it awesome"

Jdam usually does the trick but mortars usually dont do too much damage, as you said you hear the first one move out of the radius and you will be fine, they seem to only use them to take out a cache.

New arty in the DEV journal.

And yes, the JDAM kinda sucks. Hopefully it'll be replaced by the new arty.

New arti is such win, and will take care of the radius issies imo.

Unfortunately, due to the game engine limitations, hiding inside of a building in PR will usually mean you are capable of surviving just about anything that occurs outside, including a nuclear blast. The only exception is if you are inside a destructible building. While this might not be realistic, there is nothing that can be done about it without making every building a destructible version. And that is not possible.

As for the updates, you'll just have to wait and see.

I think actually using the armour component you can damage through walls. I know the jdam partly does already.
You can kill vehicles that are in the bunkers on kashan by hitting the top of the bunker.

But even infantry have an armour component. Or do you mean something else?

I can´t check because I don´t have any bf2 files on here but the bombs do do fragmentation damage that affects through objects.

Ive sat inside the bunkers on kashan and the only thing that went down on a direct impact was the fob defences we had OUTSIDE. Everyone inside and the Firebase itself went unharmed.
