Default Bring the apache back to karbala please

Seeeing as insurgents start the map with 7 technicals , 2 in each mosque and 3 in the wharehouse.

1 apache and 2 Littlebirds would even things out

just make the base have one more heli pad.

LBs could act as scouts instead of flying into death traps.

Apaches could cover LBs.

It was removed for a reason, and please do not post suggestions outside of the suggestion forum.

Fyi generally when things are removed in PR they do not return unless it is 100% proven that removing it was a mistake and I see no evidence to show that in this instance that applies.

I actually agree with the return of the apache, but 1 apache + 2 LBs is just completely over the top.

the INS do seem to get alot of technicals, but I suppose on Karbala thats ok cuz of the strykers, its archer that is getting my goat regarding techies.

That's not the way they're used, and only 5? Technicals could not take on 3 helicopters.

LBs are made of mache and apache usually hovers and gets hit by a lucky rpg....even if US had 10 choppers I doubt they would last long.

One thing I really liked about the Apache on Karbala was how it was so similar to those real life videos on Youtube of Apache gun-camera footage in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The spotter on the ground could be giving a target for the Apache, and the gunner would see an insurgent crossing the street, and it would go like this:

Gunner: Hang on, I've got one moving at 150, by the car.

Spotter: You sure he's armed? Could be a civilian.

Gunner: Yeah, he's a civvie, let's move on.

*insurgent suddenly pulls out an SKS carbine*

Gunner: Wait, wait! He's got a weapon! Hold a hover here.

*gunner fires a burst from the 30mm*\

Gunner: Ok, got him. We're clear.

This sort of situation happened to me several times when I was in the Apache on Karbala, and I liked how similar it was to real life (ie. checking your target, verifying with a spotter, etc)

But I think two LBs as well as an Apache might be a little much.
One or the other would be best.

And what exactly was this reason for removing the apache? As it is now LBs can only scout the desert and even that is very dangerous. The chances of helping a squad in the middle of the city and returning alive with it are very low because of all of the weapons insurgents have and the low amount of damage the LB can take.

Well... happens that I recently played on Karbala.

5 out of the 6 caches that were taken out by BLUFOR were shot down by LB's rockets.

Therefore, it's not the chopper, it's the pilot.

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple!

it was believed to be overpowered.

I think of it this way

LB -
Requires only 1 person to operate
has kinda crazy flight physics
SOAR any1?
imprecise ordinance resulting in many civilian deaths, no alternative to blasting areas and whatever is inside, pilots couldn't give a toot about civlians since they will probably jump right back in to teh choper when their 1000second spawn time is up.

Apache-
Requires 2 people to operate - i.e. teamwork orientated
More realistic choice of hardware than LB (ref SOAR)
Precise attacks, destroys exactly what it wants, and no more, but to do that must fly in a manner that makes it vulnerable. (slow) Flying high also a preferred tactic, which makes lazes very important since the view distance hurts visibility.

In my own map Nad Ali, I am planning a 32 layer where the blufor are 100% reliant on air assets, for supplies, transport and support, so Hopefully the apache will be seen again.

In 0.9, LBs are getting a change to their armor and technicals will now take splash damage from hydras, so lets just see how those changes affect this map.

Also with the view distance of Karbala, I would rather have a littlebird than an apache. Not to say it would be better for the team or get more kills or even stay alive longer than 5mins. But all the advantages of the Apache like its long range and powerful missiles mean nothing when you can't see anything past 400m. It's not the right asset for such a small map.
