I'd just like to say that I absolutely love Tad Sae, and think it (along with Bi Ming) is the ultimate Infantry map. Here are my reasons why:
1) The Jungle. I think the Jungle in the maps is done really really well, there is alot of undergrowth to hide in, and it is a confusing, difficult, and challenging environment to work together as. A lone wolfer in such a map usually gets killed pretty quickly, as you need a full squad to survive Ambushes etc. However, though there is alot of terrain to hide in, there is also not too much terrain. Even my old computer could handle it. 2) The Rivers. The rivers work well to cut up the Match and add yet another challenge to a squad wishing to move from one area of the battle to the other. It provides a logistical challenge, and an offensive challenge, as it is easy to defend, and therefore most squads attempting to cross will be slaughtered under fire, so your squad has to use teamwork to get across, giving one another cover etc. 3) The hidey holes. There are lots of places you can set rallies, a few caves, scattered huts, dips in the ground etc. all make for Perfect Rally spots, and are also good places to conduct realistic patrolling into the enemy territory to ambush an enemy squad, and then somewhere nice and safe, and easy to defend to hold out from. All of these things makes a team have to use teamwork to survive, a single soldier going through the Jungle is going to be seen and killed pretty quickly, whereas a squad using the undergrowth, staying hidden, will virtually never be seen, and can set up some quite good ambushes. Now I know lots of people will say that this doesn't happen Often in a Public game, but it's happened more than enough for me to love it. Great Job Devs, and I hope you have more Jungle maps in the future, and more Hidey Holes in other maps. |

Tad Sae is one of the most fun PAL maps to play imho. The thick jungle makes it feel like vietnam-like combat, the fronts are disorted and you have to keep an eye out for enemies in all directions.

I love it, I just don't like how the flags are arranged. CnC mode would be fun on it I think. Though it is pretty hard to move supplies around on the east side of the river.

This map kicks me in the shins every time I play it...not quite got good at it yet. CnC would be hell, because it's hard to move quick around the map. Instead, I think a little flag arrangement is in order.

One of the best maps IMO. The only messed up part are flag placements and the really fast bleed.

If you take the two flags, the other team pisses tickets as if you had cut both arteries open with a sledgehammer.

I personally hate the map as I never seem to see properly in this map because of the dark sky.
And im using a brand new 24" monitor. |

Yeah, completely useless posting for life !!!
I don't really like Tad Sae. Part of it is a lack of cover; lots of concealment, though, so if that's your schtick you're welcome to it. I feel the same way about OGT, but in OGT the terrain tends to work as it's own cover. Or maybe it's just that I have some subconcious hate of jungles/forests. That could be it. |
