Default Qwai River - AAS2 v.s AAS3

I have too say, Qwai with AAS3 is not as good as it was with fixed CP's in AAS2. Except for the old CP's, none of the new ones make any sense to me. What would the point of fighting over a random farm house be, for example? It was A LOT more fun to fight over the river around govt. office, fishing village and the bridges. And I do in general think that maps that were originally made with AAS2 in mind doesn't fit with AAS3.

The language and concepts contained in this post are guaranteed not to cause eternal torment in the place where the guy with the horns and pointed stick conducts his business.

Most fun I had on Qwai was CnC. I think it really depends on the flag layout. Some layouts give a good spread, others essentially cut off half the map.

I LOVE to get new spots to fight over. Gov Office and Fishing where getting old. You end up with the same tactics. Even if you as a team want to try something new, the enemy basically always ended up with a firebase in the goverment office compound and one in the farm near fishing.

So the Random does the job nicely For all the maps as far as Im concerned.

I like the variety AAS v3 gives although it isn't without its problems. CnC on Qwai though is the best way to experience it, absolutely brilliant open-ended gameplay.

Every server should be running CnC Qwai imo.

Map's pretty small, perfect for CnC but not so grand for random. Some of the flags need to be looked at, like the wide open field and the farm house; others are sound like the bridges and the offices.

That's partially true TBH, some maps designed for AAS2 doesn't convert well to AAS3, it is possible to have AAS3 on them but there is not enough potential places for CPs, and we end up with a random "Hill XXX" or "Objective YYY" which is some hill in the middle of forest just like many others or a rice field next to the barn...
AFAIK, most players like to fight for "something", a village, apartment buildings complex, industry complex, airfield, trenches, bridges, mosque, the highest hill on the map, etc, etc... something that is unique and has some strategic value or at least is not a common part of a landscape

My 2 cents.

EDIT: Qwai River is not that bad with AAS3.... Fools Road seems less compatible with AAS3...

I'd like to see 4 huge cap radii :P NW, NE, SW, SE as well as 2 flags for the main. But I do agree AASv2 works alot better for this map.

The only downside to the AAS3 is the random flag that is just east of Chinese main, way too close to their final flag and it seems to come up a lot. Otherwise the random flags give the map a lot more variety.
