...sucks! The dot showing before the sight is very unprofessional looking, and I find it a tad more obscuring than the old 2D one. What happened there, guys?

I think it's a lot better than the old one. It didn't make sense that you could see the dot in the sight if you weren't aiming. And now the dot looks like what it should.

Well, I have to partially admit, the dot appearing before the aiming is very odd, but it is a better dot than the previous one, more accurate to say the least.
So, it's just a tiny thing to work out. |

I actually think the old aimpoint was better as well.
Yes, the dot now behaves a bit better when your sighted in. But it does kind look messy. I would suggest the old aimpoint be brought back, the red dot model part be move as far forward on the weapon as possible and Chuc work on the animation to try and give the impression the dot is behaving more realisitcally (e.g. less movement on the rifle on the stock end, more on the muzzle end?) rather than the dot we have now. But either way is still pretty good imo. |

During the old red dot days, I was part of the group that wanted to see the vanilla BF2 red dot come into PR. Today I regret that I supported the move. Beyond the dot, the biggest issue I see with the aim point is that the dot is way too far high in the scope. To be honest its very awkward when the red dot is a centimeter from the top but like an inch from the bottom of the scope. I would like to see the red dot be right above the frontal iron sight. I know some will say this is returning back to the old scope, but its not. The old scope literally had the dot on the front spoke, which defeats the purpose of the dot. The vanilla BF2 dot looks nice but its way to big and wide for precise shooting at range. This is where I thought the old dot was superior but not perfect. I propose to have it right above the front sight like so:
![]() I know PR .86 isn't AA3, but I feel this is one of the best representations of the M68 aimpoint I have seen yet. |

Just get rid of the iron sight at the front, and make the dot very small and extremely bright and it perfect. the dev's improved the dot a bit more made it very small and bright so you can easily place it over target's at or over 100m then it will be perfect. They'd still be a bit inferiors to optic's beyond 100m's though, with dot points you have to take more time aiming in order to hit the target because you don't have a zoom. and like yu said it hard to get that big messy dot over some one beyond 100m | |

This is a really small problem right? I think having the dot show up a split second before the sight is up is a lot better then the old one.
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f255...dot-sight.html This thread talkes about the same thing and I'm pretty sure there have been other threads on the "issue". |
