What Harrod posted is exactly what the DEVs are looking from you as a stress tester. If you are taking 'testing' more seriously than just filling up the server and reporting bugs as you play, maybe you should consider applying to be a beta tester.

Reaper, many thanks for setting EJOD, we killed the USA 299-0 and it went to kashan. So we've given up and left the server. We tried i guess.

Yep, I almost always conduct tests on a Dedicated Server and submit bug reports based upon that. However, when the Dedicated Server is unavailable I usually continue to perform these tests on a Local server in the meantime. Soon as the Dedicated Server is online again I will compare and contrast to see if the issue still exists. For a brief period of time it seemed that the v0.866 server was down... So I did what was possible in the meantime. That's also why I mentioned that I had done it on a Local server, yet never reported them, simply no point in doing so until it's confirmed on a live server.

So basically, I'm still sitting around for "The Battle for Qinling" to come around full circle in the map rotation. Until then, it's just eating up valuable time.

Although... I do wish the Dedicated Server had a normal Map Vote enabled. Shockingly enough, I was sitting alone online for hours at a time. On occasion someone would pop in, but not for long. If there was a Map Vote enabled, I could simply vote for the next map as soon as I was done with what I wanted to do. Of course, I could still get the same effect by disconnecting as it considers the round over and proceeds to the next one. But that's just slightly inconvenient.

Yeah... I wish we had the choice of doing map votes to rotate to the map we want. Especially when admin isn't around. Not like we're pubbers or something anyway. =P

I am sorry but stress testing is not for you guys to pick and choose what you want to do. You are here to make sure that the build is working so that we can publicly release it. Just play the map, if you leave because you dont like it then dont stress test there are others who are willing to do the job.

To be honest, that may be true, but the Stress Test was over 5 or so days ago and the server is still running and otherwise unpopulated. So as a user of PR I do feel obligated to do whatever is within my power (even as a Stress Tester) to try and polish the build up and report as many bugs before it is released. I mean after all, if our primary role cannot be filled acting as a Stress Tester (which ironically enough the server seldom becomes entirely full anyway) it goes into it's secondary role of bug reporting which is currently what I am doing.

I can specifically say that I had remained on the Dedicated Live Server for 1-4 hours at a time. During that time frame maybe 1-3 people may pop on between then and not remain on for more than 5-10 minutes. So with all this idle downtime I took it upon myself to make use of the situation and do a little testing of my own. There is no harm in placing a map vote on a server that's otherwise not being used to perform anything in particular at this time.

Thanks for the help warren, yea I agree that giving a vote option would be good, and its not a big deal once there is players in the server since once the server gets around 20 players, a map vote will rarely be succesful, but it would be quite useful when only a handful on the server.

By the way, there is something I wanted to speak about in relation to my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to PR. But I was wondering if this small change would be reasonable as it is directed at the habits formed by players over the years of playing Project Reality.

Is it possible to make a small switch in the positioning of the "Medic" and "Officer" in the COMM ROSE kit list selection screen? Currently it defaults to "Medic" and most players who are used to playing as Squad Leaders and requesting an "Officer Kit" will have a tendency to click the wrong kit... Then they'll be waiting another 2 minutes to pick the right kit again.

After opening the COMM ROSE kit selection screen, it would always default to "Officer" first.
