Hey guys... Did anyone at all try these values out? I'm not too fancy with commands or editing otherwise I would do these myself. I think I'll have to snoop around and figure it out as well.

Take the Blue Pill or take the Red Pill?

How about increasing the deviation that folows after each shot to the point where its hard to hit stuff after firing more than 5-8 rounds?

Although ironically enough at times, despite being Stress Testers it still appears there is a straining effort to try and lock the server consistently. So it seems our primary purpose is still unable to be achieved in the first place.

I do sympathize with the Developers on this matter as it's been tough times in both the past and in the present to get a full server.
Oh there's nothing wrong with doing a little focused testing, and I'm definitely not saying all bugs have been found (I found a buildkiller in 865, so I know that), but your complaining about people 'coming on just to play' is a bit out of order when that's our primary job . If you were to come online and ask if someone would help you test a certain thing, I'm sure they'd help, and if you announced it then you should be able to do it undisturbed, but don't expect the whole server to grind to a halt unless it's a really big bug.

I think that there should have been a bit more warning and control with the stress test. Had it been a couple of weeks, and had clan leaders been contacted and their help requested, I'm sure that a server could be filled with ease. Trustworthy clans, with the players that the leaders choose to be trustworthy enough, and we'd have plenty loads of people on the servers.

You can see how effective they are in Kashan Training; you fly anywhere other than where you should be, you're dead.

I feel that even if two people were sacrificed to properly crew this vehicle, it still would be worth it. Matter of fact I feel it's far too overpowered to have two different players one-manning and controlling two different AAV's. The amount of manpower lost, to the amount of deadly defensive anti-air ability gained is something that is already highly effective as is.
Maybe, but it's a very specialised vehicle, I dunno really; I don't use vehicles that much

Its easy to change, but it'll prevent you from going online, so make a backup of your objects_server.zip

Go to any of the deployed machine guns in the objects_server.zip, usually under

Weapons\Handheld

Eg.
Weapons\Handheld\chlmg_type95deployed
Weapons\Handheld\eurif_hk21deployed
Weapons\Handheld\iraq_al-qudsdeployed
Weapons\Handheld\insrg_pkmkitdeployed
Weapons\Handheld\RULMG_PKMdeployed
Weapons\Handheld\uslmg_m249deployed

Do not go into the gblmg_minimideployed folder as its not in use.

Find the .tweak file for the weapon, open that up in notepad.

Find and replace the appropriate variables as per the code posted.

Code:
ObjectTemplate.deviation.setFireDev .002 .002 .0006
Code:
ObjectTemplate.createComponent SoldierBasedRecoilComp
ObjectTemplate.recoil.hasRecoilForce 1
ObjectTemplate.recoil.recoilForceUp CRD_UNIFORM/7/-2/0
ObjectTemplate.recoil.recoilForceLeftRight CRD_UNIFORM/-4/4/0
ObjectTemplate.recoil.zoomModifier 0.07
ObjectTemplate.recoil.goBackOnRecoil 1
Save and try it out ingame on a local server.

That should be objects_serverpatch1.zip shouldn't it?

Anyone else online right now, I got a local server up with the modified file if you can join and test with me, see how the accuracy plays out ingame;

OK for anyone else I've done this;

http://harrod.dyndns.org:552/Weapons.rar

1. Backup your Objects_serverpatch1.zip file to desktop
2. Unzip Weapons.rar
3. Open bf2/mods/pr/Objects/Objects_serverpatch1.zip
4. Browse to Weapons/Handheld
5. Drag in the new weapons folders, overwriting originals
6. Ensure the updated file modified dates in the zip are today's
7. Join my server

I'm also running TS;

Yea Harrod thats exactly what I did with v0.8/.85... 6 weeks in advance, contacting the community leaders etc. and results were less than stellar and a MASSIVE time sink for myself personally, for not too much gain. Well this time around I didn't have nearly as much time (as you can probably tell) or energy to focus into this stress test, but it was still useful for dbzao to figure some of the major problems, but I think the process needs a re-evaluation in the future. It needs to be both fun/interesting for the end user, useful for the developers, and not a huge time sink to setup/execute.

Hmm...OK...seems the community lacks enough people to keep a server full

OK, Myself & Warren spent a fair bit of time testing the LMG with the new values.

IMO, big improvement. If you're not in cover, it will kill you. When deployed, it's accurate enough to kill people standing up/making targets of themselves, but if you're in cover it'll keep you well supressed, needing a smoke or very fast legs to break, forcing a fall back or other close cover.

In bursts, it's a great weapon. In automatic, you'll plaster an area with shots, supressing the region but you ain't gonna hit anything.

Single shot, the thing acts as a bloody marksman rifle. MIGHT be an issue if people cotton onto that one, we'll just have to see how it is in 867. Don't think it should be too much of a problem though.

100% improvement.
