I think he means USMC main

its ok to defend it...

but u cant effectively use the HAT from the buildings in the base cuz the projectile comes from ur stomach or whatnot so u cant point down at all to use it...as u'll hit the window sil

I love how US DOD on every map is bullshit and INS have a big DOD that kills a coalition guy in 6 sec.

the USMC on this map DOD should kill you in 2/4 sec before you could drop a mine/ied you should be dead.
if we had more then 32 players yes a base defense would be needed but we don't there for defending the coalition forces main base needs to be the commander.

commander need a wrench hes the only one with really no job now make him base defender.

i dont know just a thought Dx

the coalition forces DoD on all maps need to be better vs Inf if a INF walks in a coalition DoD should truly be a instant death.

Twisted Helix: Yep you were the one tester that was of ultimate value.

Well in another thread i started discussing vehicle placement on this map, about 4 people started discussing this topic, so i made this thread. The main base i mean is the US one.

As far as defending. If you get in some good positions, it only takes 1 squad to cover the whole top end of the map really. You need a combat eng for mine removal and C4 protection on the north gate. A sniper is also good to have on the roof of that big building. A humvee can do a patrol around the base, but it should stay off the road directly south of the base. It's actually very easy to defend the base and rewarding to see your team rolling out without getting blown up as soon as they leave the gate.

Having played this map alot, I do think the DOD needs to be bigger around, atleast near the entrances to the base. I hate it when I see a whole squad of INS camping the main, planting IEDs instead of defending the caches like they should be.

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

Attacking the threat at the source(camping the gate) is also defending the caches. If those vehicles can just roll out of the main, they will eventually end up at a cache somewhere.

i love the fact that ins can attack the main. gives the coalition something to think about. i sometimes create a "HQsecurity" squad and just move around the walls, intercepting people. good fun!

Only problem I have with defending the base/spawn camping

is INS. who sit north of the U.S. base on top of buildings and shoot into the main's spawn point area.

As far as IED's etc outside the entrances, such is life!

Be observant when leaving the main, assign your troops to clear/scope the area before leaving.

Of course the DoD could be increased in size which would alleviate IED's etc and also people getting up on those buildings to the north,
just depends on how the dev's intend the map to be played.

Love the map btw, now if only the INS. would move away from the caches after they spawn
and setup more "dog-boxes" so as not to give away their location instantly

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes.
