- Hit feedback (accuracy percentage message for each successful hit--essential). - Place plenty immobile destructible assets for target practice. - Place Supply Crates everywhere (re-arming should not be an issue). - Large penalty zone around each base (prevent baseraping). - Larger Infantry training area (very limited tactical options; also some taller buildings). - Multiple airstrips (no clutter and allows take-off/landing). - Longer airstrips (more forgiving for non-pilot players). - Faster vehicle re-spawn (too easy to run out). - Vehicle self-destruct/character auto-suicide timer (prevents vehicle/kit whoring). - MEC airbase w/aircraft (allows for dogfights). - US land vehicle base (preferably near to MEC base so you don't have to spend ages getting across the map--that would not be helpful to training). Ideally, I would place vehicle bases on either side of a lightly built-up area with a wide variety of terrain so players could get used to handling. This is rather important because otherwise players will ignore vehicle/infantry training and just use aircraft. It's difficult to think how to improve on the map because Kashan's wide open, well-lit areas make it ideal for aircraft bombing but not much else--and not many players want to make the sacrifice to act as moving ground targets for pilots. As for the organized training you were talking about: never seen that. The norm is to get a bunch of players doing their own thing, mostly practicing their piloting. On occasion you'll get some players in the Infantry Training area..who will usually proceed to try and spawncamp. IMO a proper training map would have to be very feed-back based so players would get hit confirmation and an idea as to their accuracy, but would also involve tips on how to do this or that. Also you'd ideally have some bots in there to serve as moving targets as well as some just standing still for marksmanship training. | |

When i started PR I of course went to that server a nightmare.
You guys seem to forget the noob problems I did read all the PDF manual, but even so it was still not clear abour requesting kits for operating vehicles the wait when you take a gunner position etc. Assuming you guys want to bring in more player to PR the training side must be revamped. I myself nearly gave up with PR at the beginning. I was very lucky to meet a few guys who helped me. Try to think what it would be like if you had never ever played PR: I would estimate as many as 50% of newbies might give up at the start. And please please please try to get the WIKI going as a noob I really needed that, and probably still do. Seperate the need for a map for complete beginners and a tactics practising map for experienced players I am not critising I just remember the begining was very hard for me. I don't know whats best to do an IO map? A map with air and land vehicles with a no go zone for each vehicle? The most useful thing to have would be guys on VOIP and text to help but of course very very difficult to organize. |

Let the MEC have jets so we can have air to air training, or have a training map solely devoted to aerial combat training with jets for both sides.

Quinling is resource-heavy so the resulting lag on slower machines makes flying more difficult--I always get a chuckle watching newbies endlessly crash in Quinling as their aircraft roll right into the ground.

I just hate on Kashan how the US side always gets away with raping MEC spawns in general, but as soon as an MEC AA begins raping they are kicked, banned or abused and tagged as a 'noob'... so if there was someway to prevent US jets/helos from constantly raping INF spawns e.g. make two inf spawns or let MEC have some form of aerial defence too then maybe the whole rape issue would be solved as MEC players have less cause to be aggravated...
just a suggestion.. *EDIT not saying that it'd work 100% but it might stem the rape |
