Default Insurgency... don't like it anymore :(

Hi All.

I hope I am not the only one that finds insurgency a struggle. I know a lot of people really love Insurgency, but recently, I have not been able get on with it at all - Especially on Korengal Valley. It just seems that an insurgents job is basically... to die. Which I can understand (in theory) but for me, there is no enjoyment in it anymore.

Don't get me wrong, it's quite enjoyable to take out apc's etc with an IED but... that happens like 1% of the time.

Are there any plans to make any changes to the class?

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

I know what you mean, it seems like they're more balanced in some things and very organized, but a lot of the stuff that makes insurgents well.. insurgent like have been stripped. I mean, i understand why they got rid of all the spawn points. it was because it made the game crash. But at least bring back some more spawn points. =/ Insurgents don't all start in one spot.. usually they're there in advance, the entire driving force right there. They pop out of no where.

._. alas, its what the devs want in the end i guess.... so we can't really complain, cause for all we know our ideas will screw it up even more.

Insurgency maps are as great as ever, gameplay mechanics still need work though. A bazillion random spawn points needs to return because the Insurgency represents the whole populace spread out through the entire area, and the Civi needs his spawn time brought down to .75 levels if he's arrested and stay the same if he's shot, and for gods sake give him some more sprint!

Any officer can place the forward outpost without any requirements. I don't see the lack of spawns as a valid argument. Its incredibly easy to keep an insurgent spawn up for a whole round.

Sounds more like a rebellion. Back in v.75, it was routine to find the enemy, kill and get killed, spawn 20 seconds later at the spawn point closets to the enemy, rinse and repeat.

Though the routine might be the same now, it wasn't a zerg rush like it was in v.75.

I also find myself sticking with my squad more, especially on maps like Korengal, and Ramiel. Defending Caches are quite fun now.

how about let the insurget officers create spawns like the other faction even when you are the brits or americans i hate to have to walk around for 5 min looking for the cash with nothing to shoot at. a deploable spawn point would make things interesting.......

I might support spawnalbe rally points for INS, but you shouldn't request kits from them.

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

But... isn't that what an insurgency is? Pissed off civilians wanting their sovereignty back and/or defending their homes from the invading force? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the reason that they are called insurgents is that they are an unorganized rebellion, not recognized as an official faction.

In other words, insurgents wouldn't be working in "squads" or have a commander. In fact, if anything, lone wolfing should be encouraged for realism's sake, as your normal insurgent isn't going to go to meetings at the mosque to discus tactics with hundreds of their peers.

I propose that a new spawn system be employed to simulate the much larger proportion of insurgents versus invading soldiers. v0.75 came close, but Reaper does provide the point that all you need to do is spawn 15-30 seconds later and ambush the enemy since you know where they were last. Perhaps we could have a spawn system with one or too main spawn points (eg, mosque and palace on Al Basrah), and have a randomized spawn where you could spawn nearly anywhere.

There are a number of different ways to this could be done:

1 Allow up to x randomly placed spawn points, in which you could spawn anywhere within such and such radius, 100 meters let's say.

2 Have a single spawn point inwhich you could spawn any where on the map.

3 Revert back to v0.75 spawn mechanics.

Option number 1 is more of a compromise between the other two, and doesn't suffer from their negative side-effects: players spawning halfway across the map from any of the action, making for overly boring gameplay, or the point that Reaper has already brought up.

If any of these options be used, I would also suggest that insurgents should always be able to spawn in a building.
