Cool HMG can't fire downwards

i'm continously bugged by the fact that the placed 50 cals can't fire downwards. This makes defending a hill quite hard, in real life armies put fire support groups on hills surrounding a battle to give supporting fire.

Seriously, i would very much like to know why it can't fire below the horizon. It makes a lot more sense to allow the gun to point downwards more, or make the installation adapt to the underlying surface in some way(putting a fifty on a hillside just gives a pile of dirt and a perfect aa weapon for low-flying hueys)

But i do have the deepest respect for what you guys have accomplished in PR and i will understand if you say what i'm asking for is impossible

Eh, the .50's are ok, but they could be better. I believe they have a roughly 30 degree depression arc (below horizontal) and roughly a 15 degree elevation arc (above horizontal) with a 45 degree left and 45 degree right firing arc.

I believe this is so the the MG's are dominant in their arcs, but still flankable. This also decreases their AA capability, putting more emphasis in the deployed AA launchers. The tripods the .50's use are accurate, however I think they could depress (look down) abit more, perhaps down to 45 degrees aswell.

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe
