Do you enjoy a game more if a dedicated commander is pulling the strings on your team ? If so why ?

if there is a commander getting CAS and ground troops to work together, and squad to squad action (2 squads attacking the same objective from 2 points at the same time) and stuff like that a commander makes the game a hell of a lot more fun.
Thou when you get a commander where all he wants to do is play bob the builder, kinda gey, thou not soo much of a issue in .8 with the commander being locked up in his CP and squads being able to play bob the builder without a commander EDIT: as I thought this was a worthwhile topic I added a poll |

if the commander knows what he is doing, then yes.

If the squads are talking to the commander = good game, if squads arent talking to the commander = he might as well be another pair of boots on the ground

Having a commander makes a massive difference to weather or not your team wins, and usually ( though not always ) if your teams winning its more fun.
Its a shame its not more fun for the commander though - especially now theyre not needed for build orders, and its sucks having to stay in your shed the whole round. Even having a jdam every 30mins instead of an hour would make it more fun for them. I used to go commander quite often in 0.7 ( usually because we really needed firebases ) but Ive only tried it once in v0.8 and it was very boring tbh - I would have to try it on more than one round though to give a fair opinion. |

I mainly play insurgency maps but sometimes when I don't feel like being "in" the action or if my team is just a bunch of lost puppies meandering everywhere except the objectives I will take the reigns and issue basic yet critical orders/defend markers etc. I'll balance the load so every objective has squads either already in the vicinity or on their way. Alot of people seem to respond once they get actual orders....it's weird I don't know what's so cryptic about defending/attacking objectives but apparently it's pretty murky to some.

The game is definitely more enjoyable with a CO keeping an eye on the big picture, but my favorite kind of CO needs to meet exacting requirements. He has to stay in communication but know when to STFU if the SL tells him to stand by, he needs to relay information quickly and concisely, he needs to know how to use the B key VOIP, he needs to coordinate squads to support each other, he needs to give squads objectives, but let the SL get on with the way to do it, so long as the SL is competent, and most important of all, the CO needs to have either a female voice, a deep voice or a deep voice with a pleasant sounding accent

Tirak thats exactly what I do. Only issue I had so far was on 10th to move too fast and not build a bunker on an important flag and on mestia a tank getting slammed by an spec ops because he did not stick with the grunts (but did afterwards :P).

I want my commander to sound like a radio host for a smooth jazz station. *deep bassey voice* " A trip a day giveaway...but first we have some baddies in G5 that need taking care of"
